Beautiful spotted she-cat entered the den quietly with her tail close to the ground and her ears pricked listening to the steady breathing of her clan mates. The tension she had felt at the boarder had eased away just a bit though she felt as if her every move was still being watched. It annoyed Crystalpaw a bit…since she was generally cool about everything she did. She couldn’t get her mind off of Swiftpaw and the way he interacted with that Windclan trash. Feeling the water reeds lightly touch her whiskers she shook her head roughly side to side, her light step leading her to her cold moss. Her bedding was placed next to Swifpaw’s as his bedding reeked of his familiar scent…there seemed something about the black & white tom that calmed the she-cat down although she would never admit it to his face. They were both best friends ever since kit hood, being apprenticed together and always spending their time together. Honestly Swiftpaw was the only cat in the entire clan that got the she-cat to speak! It was pretty epic if you wanted the truth.
Stepping into her moss she snuggled into it silently tucking her long slender limbs under her body. Front paws hung over the side of the moss as she looked at the entrance with her solitary striking gaze. A deep sigh was given as a light streak of moonlight lapped at her sleek short haired coat. Her eyes appeared greener then they usually did as they narrowed to tiny tired slits. Pink tongue rasped over her left paw as she brought it behind her ear, giving her face a swift clean.
Crystalpaw knew that what she did today was something that could get her in some serious trouble. Especially with Silvercreek…deputy & mentor. A bit of discomfort nagged at her stomach as she swiveled her ears around the den at the small rustles of sleeping apprentices.
Tail flickered at her side, the tip lightly twitching here and there. Eyes shifted onto Swiftpaws empty nest and it made her miss him just a bit as he was the one that always whispered to her at night. Where was that mouse brained loser? Glancing at the nest next to his she saw Slatepaw’s back curled away from her. Good. He always seemed to hear her when nobody else did! Looking at the entrance again she paced in her mind a bit. When they left he was only a few foxtails behind wasn’t he? thingying her head lightly she got up again heading towards the entrance. Exiting the den she sat down by the entrance wrapping her tail over her paws carefully. Looking over her shoulder into the dark den she heard someone shuffle, getting to her paws again she bounded towards the Clan entrance. Eh…nobody could have seen her. she was sure of it.

yesterday had been yet another uneventful day. he'd woken up at sunrise, gone on an uneventful patrol with ravenwing, his mentor. then upon arrival back at camp he'd barley had time to stuff a small fish in his mouth before ravenwing had insisted that they had gone out for training. slatepaw had been looking forward to that part of the day, hoping that, for once, they'd do battle training. no such luck. ravenwing had insisted on re-teaching him how to fish, and then wasting the rest of their afternoon teaching him how to catch water voles. there was absoulutely no need for him to have to learn to catch voles. that was thunderclan stuff. slatepaw would have rather been doing battle training, learning skills that he could actually use to defend his clan.
ravenwing interpreted this as not caring and had then sent him to bed early. early enough for slatepaw to be sitting awake in his nest before drifting into a restless dream about him and minnowpaw. it wasn't big or anything. just him and minnowpaw hunting, talking, being well...best friends. it was real enough that when he woke up he had to tell himself it didn't happen.
now that he'd been in his nest for so long he was dying to get up and stretch his limbs. thats when he noticed crystalpaw rise, and pad out of the den. with a yawn, he slipped to his feet pausing to stretch for a moment before following her. he saw her turn back once, but slatepaw wasn't in view. he rolled his eyes. she didn't talk much, and slatepaw didn't like that. he hated when cats were anti-social. so with a determined look on his face he came up behind her. she was going towards the camp entrance, looking around as if not supposed to be.
slatepaw licked his muzzle before speaking. going somewhere your not supposed to be? he asked his mind loud in the crisp morning air. he co.cked his gray head to one side, cerulean blue eyes gleaming with curiosity.

She felt the pressure rise and success reach her lungs- though everything went downhill when she heard a raspy almost sleepy voice behind her. It made her bite down on her tongue as she stopped in her tracks turning around swiftly taking a seat right in the middle of the clan clearing since she simply didn’t make it to the entrance. Tail casually came over her front paws, as minty green eyes looked across at Slatepaw who didn’t miss a chance to catch the she-cat in mid action. Darn! Don’t you have something better to do like watch Minnowpaw sleep? she whispered over to him her voice gentle carried by the wind. A light taunting glitter shone in her eyes, with the help of a mischievous smirk on her lips to get her point across. Almost everyone in the whole entire clan knew about those two little love birds, honestly Crystalpaw finding much amusement in teasing Slatepaw on the subject. He always seemed to know what the heck he was doing…though he always tried to track down on Crystalpaw.
Oh the wonderful spotted apprentice knew she was disliked by the tom…just because she didn’t speak much to him when he asked her rhetorical questions. It wasn’t her fault! He knew the answer to his own questions…well at least she thought he did. Crystalpaw knew Slatepaw for a while now…you can pretty much say they were born around the same time, and apprenticed together as well.
Though both cats didn’t interact with each other until absolutely necessary. Pretty much a sad case wouldn’t you say? Mind began to wonder if the gray tom would just retreat back to his sleep or insist on stalking her. Flickering her ears she tilted her head the exact same way he did, her powerful green gaze matching his glowing blue one. Wouldn’t think you would very much care…but yes. Would you like to join? she tested in careful gentle tones that smirk still upon her lips. Sneaky, sneaky girl we have here now. Triangular ears flickered at him, to prompt his response. If he takes much longer and gets much louder he might awake the whole freaking clan!...dear Starclan…why did it have to be Slatepaw…gosh.
