odd. that wasn't emberstar's voice ringing throughout the camp. although he had been ill, the pallid feline expected his voice to sound for a clan meeting. not the deputy's. but then again, it had been postponed for long enough, and perhaps their leader decided that dawnheart ought to step in to get his duties done.
or perhaps the worst occurred.
but, at the moment, snowstorm was in no mood for such negative thoughts. it wasn't good for the clan, let alone herself.
slightly stretching in the moss bed, she got to her paws and slightly shook herself off, making her way out the warriors' den. she had to admit, the nap was rather nice. very nice, actually. rather refreshing and calming for her mind, although things had been looking up for the clan in ways after that shadowclan clash anyway. just a tad. the disturbance wasn't all that agitating; just disappointing in the first moment of wake. but things were more important in the present than within her nap.
once completely outside of the den, she padded toward the edges of the gathered clanmates nearest to the highrock. usual enough, her emotionless exterior remained unwavering as her moonstones flickered upward, catching quick sight of the deputy and a good fellow friend. she had a bittersweet feeling about this meeting.

Silverwolf jumped at Fadedstorm's voice. "Hello there Scoutkit and Briarkit. Do you know where your sister and other brother are?" She heard him ask. Then he turned to her, and she returned his gaze. "Silverwolf! I haven’t talked to you in ages!" "Hey Fadedstorm. Yes, long time no talk. So how's everything going? Is there somewhere you'd like to sit?" She asked. "Don’t you think we should go sit your apprentice? Wasn’t Eclipsepaw your apprentice before she got hurt? Besides if your looking for an apprentice I heard Lightningflower is also, you two could talk about it, and I was thinking of taking one on anyway." That answered her question. "I really think something’s happened and if it has...it’s very slim that their mother would apprentice them. Even though they are of age. Let’s leave them be for a while, besides I really think your old apprentice would like talking to you. The two toms probably need some time with their sibilings if worst has came to worst." Then Silverwolf replied, "Ya, I agree. And good point with the apprentices." She agreed, then watched as Fadedstorm walked over to Eclipsepaw and Lillypaw. She gave a quick, last glance at the two kits, then headed off to join Fadedstorm. She heard him mumble something, but she didn't catch it. "Eclipsepaw! How did the rest of your training go? Look, I'm soo sorry I didn't get to complete it with you..." She didn't know what else to say... All she wanted was for herself and Eclipsepaw to be friends, and for Eclpisepaw not to be mad at her.

. b r i a r k i t .briarkit stared into his mother bi-colored eyes for a moment more before actually looking at the cats assembled around him. there weren't many. cats were still poking thier noes out of thier dens, and movilg lazily into the clearing. some had the look of concern on thier faces to see dawnheart on the highrock. thats right, he thought. not everyone knows, he stared off into the distance in thought for a moment more until the sensation of a pelt brushing against his own snapped him back to reality. he turned his head, breathing the familiar scent of his brother, scoutkit. Briarkit, are you okay? Do you think Mom’s going to tell the rest of the clan about...that?
briarkit's eyes burned for a moment. are you okay? he hissed at his brother. you seem back to normal considering it happened yesterday. he narrowed his eyes at his brother. and of course she'll tell them. its kinda important, he clenched his teeth shut, lashing his tail. why was he being so agressive? what was wrong with him? he squeezed his eyes hut for a moment, blinking away tears. he was ready to turn to his brother to apologize when a warrior named of silverwolf came up behind the two. she asked them if they were okay, and if they were excited to be apprentices. also who they thought her apprentice would be. shut up blabbermouth, briarkit thought crossly. before he could even think of how to answer thier questions, the warrior named fadedstorm came up beside silverwolf. they began to talk about things, and briarkit just looked away, ready for the ceromony to start. he really was not in the mood for talking. couldn't anyone see that? evening fadedstorm. silverwolf. scout, briar. the voice of his den mother made briarkit's anger grow more. he just wanted to be alone. so why did everyone have to come and talk to him? briarkit looked crossly back at the three warriors. can everyone just leave me alone?! he mewed, stalking off in the direction where there were only a few cats. notes; muse; pretty good word count; 362 comments; sorry about him. v.v he doesn't want to be talked to. The golden bengal she-cat slowly walked out of the warriors den. Her eyes drifted across the camp all the way to high rock, Emberstar wasn't standing there, but she could have guessed that from the voice of Dawnheart ringing throughout the camp. Leaflight found a nice little spot towards the back of the crowd and sat down, alone. She tucked her paws neatly under her and looked around at the cats. Some of the kits looked dazed, and unhappy and others overly happy. Many of the Elders looked worried and Dawnheart looked upset. After all Emberstar was sick to the point of not getting better and Leaflight guessed that he had gone to hunt with Starclan, which, in a way, was always a good thing.
Now that she had gotten settled she looked around to see all the wonderful things happening within the camp. A few of the kits had reached the age of six moons, so that was always an exciting time. She remembered when she was a kit, all she wanted was to be Leader...now she didn't really think about it. Maybe she would be chosen to be a mentor to one of them. It was always something she had wanted to do. Leaflight sat looking at the proud queens, they had the same look as her mother did that gleam in their eyes, but behind the look, they had an almost depressed look about them. A joyful sadness if you will, it hurt to look at. She looked over at the apprentices, they looked happy to get new apprentices, and maybe some new friends. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - TAGGED ! Hazelpelt trotted out of the warriors' den. Her eyes were dark with sleep, but she had a pleasant skip to her gait. The traditional words rang in her ears as she stepped closer. Her eyebrows creased. That wasn't Emberstar. She slowed up a bit, but kept her gaze on the HighRock. Little Briarkit was looking solemn. He was the oldest of Emberstar and Dawnheart's litter. Or so Hazelpelt's memory brought to mind. He'd hissed at the younger orange and white kitten and stormed off. Hazelpelt's heart faltered. Something was wrong. Emberstar's sickness couldn't possibly be that bad. Could it? As she inched closer, she recognized Silverwolf and Fadedstorm. "What's going on here, you two?" She questioned, her honey colored eyes shifting toward the kittens.
[OMG. I HAVE NO HAZELPELT MUSE.]

Jasperkit's thick fur stood on end. Briarkit and Scoutkit weren't next to him anymore. Applekit was. He took a small sniff and realized there were a lot of cat's out. "Jas, Apple. . . Your mom called a meeting. Head out there as soon as you can, okay?" Sandstream's voice meowed quietly. The usually rambunctious kitten had tried to sleep away the pain of his father's death. But it was an inevitable occurrence. Much like Jasperkit's forceful growing up to do. He'd had to. To be a shoulder to cry on for his younger siblings.
He slowly rose from his paws and opened his green orbs. His little sister was still sleeping. He gave her ear a small lick and turned to the entrance of the nursery. Briarkit and Scoutkit were sitting close to the HighRock. The Emberstar look-alike, as he'd been so affectionately called, padded closer. It was then that he saw Briarkit spit at Scout. Jasperkit's eyes narrowed. He was angry and sad, too. But he wouldn't do that.
Deciding he should steer clear of his male siblings, he spotted a white pelt. His paws became tired and less strong as he spied Snowstorm. She's played with him as a kit. When his siblings wouldn't. He gave her a weak smile, but could feel the tears forming. He made a mad dash up to her and dipped his head. "Hello Snowstorm," he meowed, voice muffled.
[OCC: MORE JASPER MUSE THAN HAZEL!]

are you okay? Did Scoutkit hear him right? Briarkit hissed the words towards his brother, Scoutkit’s green eyes turned and looked at Briarkit like he’d grown an extra tail. What...what did I do? The hope that his brother would just shake his head, blink a few times, and go back to normal was far from the truth. you seem back to normal considering it happened yesterday. Scoutkit froze as his brothers eyes narrowed his way and felt his chest drop, he didn’t feel normal. He was just trying to be strong for his family...and grieve when no one was looking. and of course she’ll tell them. Its kinda important. The little orange tom felt like the ground underneath his paws had just moved and fallen, ever since he’d seen his dad last, not alive but with starclan, he’d told himself that he would be there for everyone. No matter how small he was, he was going to be there for his sister, mother, and brothers. But sitting there seeing his brother so mad at him for doing that he felt like he was going to just fall and lie there. I’m not being normal...AND I know it’s important...he’s our dad...he’s gone too, but we’ve got to be big... Scoutkit said through clinched teeth, trying his hardest to not let the tears fall that threatened to just spill out.
Scoutkit kept his soft green eyes on his brother before moving his gaze to his mother feeling that wet feeling as a tear slid down his face. A white tipped tail moved up to his face and brushed it away, but his gaze lowered from dawnheart. It didn’t make sence...some of the other clan grew up with their parents always there...why did dad have to go. we were just getting to really know him, he should have been there, to see us get apprenticed, he should be the one on the rock giving us our warrior names. Scoutkit’s thoughts wandered and didn’t pay any attention to the warriors that passed, just kept his orange head down, staring at his paws. I wanted to just be big, and be there for apple, mom, and the others...but now I just feel like sitting and not moving. The small orange tom squeezed his eyes tight, fighting to keep the tears from rolling down his face.
Though as he stood there Scoutkit pictured Emberstar standing beside Dawnheart on the rock that his mother stood alone on now, He would want me to be strong for Applekit and Dawnheart. If anything I will be strong for them...Briar’s just is upset too, he’ll be okay later right.. The tom bit his lip and took a deep breath as another cat came up, the scent told him it was sandstream. evening fadedstorm. Silverwolf. Scout, briar. Scoutkit looked up from his paws and at his mother again, he felt a look across his face and knew it was one that was trying to say he would be big no matter what. After a few seconds, he sighed and looked back at the two warriors who were heading off towards a group of cats closer to high rock. can everyone just leave me alone?! Scoutkit’s eyes flew towards his brother again and watched in amazement as he stalked off to where there weren’t a lot of cats. The bright orange tom sighed heavily and glanced at Sandstream, once again trying to not let the tears fall. Did...I do something wrong? Briarkit’s so mad...am I no t supposed to be trying to be big...I want to be big for mom and Apple...Is it wrong? Scoutkit heard himself whisper, looking over at Sandstream till looking away again, tears threatening to fall again. But as another cat asked what was wrong, Scoutkit shrugged his shoulders softly and turned his green eyes towards where his brother had stalked off. OOC|| Notes|| I have been crying on and off through this post..

{OOC Hazelpelt, Silverwolf and Fadedstorm have already left the kits, but OK...}
Silverwolf stared at her old apprentice, waiting for a reply. She almost jumped out of her fur when she heard another voice. "What's going on here, you two?" Hazelpelt asked. "Hazelpelt," Silverwolf acknowledged. "It's been a long time since I'v talked to you. Don't creep up on me next time. You almost scared my tail off! Anyways, nothing's going on... I... I guess I shouldn't have stopped by to talk to the kits... They must be so horrified with they're father being so sick... I mean, being this sick, he could, well... You know... Join Starclan. I really hope that's not the case... But I think someting has gone wrong... If Emberheart was better, then he would be announcing it, not Dawnheart. Although thinking on the bright side, he may just want her to announce the cerimony, because he can't... I hope that's all that it is. Everyone else seems so quiet and worried." Silverwolf fnished quietly.
Not wanting to talk about bad things, Silverwolf quickly changed the subject. In a happier, and louder tone, she said, "So I'm sure you know Eclipsepaw and Lillypaw, and Fadedstorm... What am I talking about, of course you do! Well, why don't you come and sit with us? We don't bite. she said with a slight giggle. Then looking back at Eclipsepaw, she waved her tail as if to say 'You can answer my question now if you'd like.' She hopped Eclpisepaw had good training, and knew everything a warrior needed to know. Who was she kidding? Silverwolf knew that Eclipsepaw was a smart apprentice, and would be able to figure anything out on her own. If anything, Silverwolf knew she shouldn't have to worry about Eclpisepaw knowing what to do, but more Eclipsepaw knowing what to do right. No apprentice could be taught the wrong thing, or else one little move, and the whole Clan could be in danger. Again, who was she kidding? Eclipsepaw wouldn't do something like that! She wasn't mouse-brained! Then Silverwolf took a quick glance at the kits, and saw only Scoutkit left. Where had Briarkit gone? Then she saw him trotting off angerly to a place where there were less cats. Silverwolf wondered what had happened, but she wasn't about to ask. She looked back at Eclpisepaw, then Lillypaw, followed by Fadedstorm, then Hazelpelt, making sure that they were all still there.

glancing over the entire clan, all the faces of the gathered clan mates, a pang slowly began to form itself. yes. it had been long since she had felt a darkness as deep as this. darker, actually - but still. in a way, she felt as if it was too soon to lose the sparks of light she had found during her life. how she had changed. despite still being so emotionless, she knew her atmosphere had been much more enlightened than moons ago. before she met lennox. how things changed. it was a sad thing, really. happiness never seemed to win.
her moonstones flashed, as her neck craned and once again, her gaze scanned the crowd. the niceness of her nap was now long gone. but still, she showed no faze.
keeping a sigh from breaking past her lips, snowstorm felt her lobes instinctively swivel, shifting toward behind her. and so she glanced through the corner of her eye, knowing the scent would not reach her before the arrival came into sight. or said something.
'hello snowstorm.' a soft frown threatened to surface as the kit came into view. jasperkit. he was always the bright kind of young one. bright in mind and personality. to see him this down.. although he didn't show it, she could feel his atmosphere. after all, when you know how to hide your own emotions, it was easy to figure out others'. so, despite his dipped head and seemingly concealed reserves, she could tell he was fighting sorrow and tears.
turning slightly, so that he was fully in view, she slightly dipped her cranium. her nose grazed his forehead; a sign of comfort. "hello, jasperkit,"
|
she whispered gently, finally feeling the pang's brunt of impact as she realized, if he was this upset, along with his siblings, it must have meant.. emberstar had gone to starclan. the reality of it was painful. he was a fine leader, and a fine father. she could tell by the way he affected the clan. he would be dearly missed. he already was. but she kept her exterior blank. staying strong for others was a priority of hers. and she wasn't going to abandon that. lifting her chin when the young tom snapped, sandstream blinked. had the circumstances been any different, she wouldn't have hesitated in popping him over his head with a paw. can everyone just leave me alone?! |
opening her mouth for a moment to call him back, she sighed, shaking her head and watching the small cat stalk off. glancing at the other warriors, she felt the tips of her ears fall a little. the poor kits. giving the warriors a nod as they moved away from scoutkit, sandstream looked down at the orange tom. Did...I do something wrong? Briarkit’s so mad...am I no t supposed to be trying to be big...I want to be big for mom and Apple...Is it wrong? dipping her head down and touching her nose to the top of his head, she shook her own fluffy head. no, you did nothing wrong. everyone has their own way of grieving. she cast a glance up at the new leader, spotting the stance that she was in, something she hadn't seen since she'd yelled at the silver warrior for betraying her own secret. her tracker mode, emotionless and cold. just give him time, and as for being big for the ladies in your life, i think that's an excellent goal. giving him a small smile, she batted her tail over his nose and turned to face the highrock. taking a deep breath, the orange tabby looked around the camp, the large gathering of cats all waiting curiously for what dawnheart would have to say. dragging her green eyes over the different faces and pelts, she saw jasperkit slipping out of the nursery and heading over to snowstorm, but still no sign of apple. nodding to herself at this observation, she half wondered if the small she-cat would make it out to the meeting at all. in all honesty, she wouldn't blame her if she stayed in the nursery. tell me scout, do you want to be an apprentice sooner, or later? glancing down at the tom, she waited, knowing that it wouldn't make much of a difference, but it would be better if the tom wanted to be an apprentice now, rather than in a week. watching as the clan trickled out of various dens and into the central clearing, the she-cat recognised the scents and sights of her clanmates. the tabby pelt of briarflight, the tan body of fadedstorm, snowstorm's fluffy white self, cats she'd grown up with. then there were others that she didn't know quite as well, silverwolf, fireclaw, fireblaze. . . so many different cats. her ears could pick up faint snippets of conversations, but when she saw scoutkit on the edge of the camp, and briarkit coming out of the nursery, followed soon after by sandstream, the silver warrior felt tears prick at her eyes. forcing herself to become stoic again, she continued waiting. she wanted as much of the clan here as possible.
observing the interactions of the felines, she watched as briarkit snapped at his brother, saw fadedstorm leading silverwolf away from the young toms, everything seemed so foreign from up here. you truly could see everyone and what all they were doing. it was like watching it from starclan. but when she saw jasperkit slip out of the nursery, her heart stopped beating. so much like his father. . . she thought to herself, watching as the tom moved over towards snowstorm. sighing, the she-cat shook her head, forcing the tears that were still threatening to make her voice crack go away, raising her head up, she cleared her throat and took a deep breath, this definitely wouldn't be easy.

Fireclaw couldn't have given two mouse ears about what was going down at the moment. She watched the kits without any enthusiasm but a smirk came to her features when one of the kits snapped at the others. At least he had guts. She wanted to bully on over there and pop him round the head but she was too tired to be bothered. That warrior, Silverwolf though, she would happily murder that she-cat. She didn't kno why, but there was just something about her. Fireclaw growled and stretched out in the shade. Someone walked past her and almost trod on her tail. The she-cat hissed and lashed out. Watch it, Mouse-brain! she snarled with extreme malice, claws out and hairs up, before she settled back down again, a moody growl rippling from her throat.
Then started the monotonous talk from the deputy. So Emberstar hadn't made it? Shame. Whatever, carry on. Fireclaw barely even looked up from her spot. She just wasn't intrested in all of this. Her warrior ceramony hadn't been anything great. barely anycats had called her name out and no-one had congratualted her. She believed in their eyes, she might as well have just dissapeared. Funny, since she was one of the biggest she-cats in Thunderclan, if not the biggest. She was certainly the most imposing. With her huge Maine Coon like appearance. She wasbuilt like a chucky version of one, with only the mildly longer hair on her tail and ears and the feathing on her legs to give away her heratige. Her longer two front claws showed clearly through the shorter fur on her paws and was a constant reminder WHY you did not mess with Fireclaw.
Fireclaw sighed to herself and forced herself to listen to the deputys words of...oh erm, yeah, Making kits into apprentices or something. She'd laugh so hard if one of them objected to it.

Snowstorm's reply was one he would expect. She seemed a bit unnerved at his grief. Did the Clan not know that the sickness had claimed their beloved leader? Jasperkit sighed, her tail drooping significantly. It was so strange seeing his mother up at the HighRock. Gaze flickering to his paws, he wondered if he'd ever be able to get used to it. He'd hoped and prayed that his father would be the one to grant his warrior name. And eventually give him the deputy position. All that was over now. Dawnheart wouldn't want to see her children in such a risky spot. Jasperkit just knew it. It took a few moments to realize that he hadn't said anything in return to Snowstorm. He straightened up a bit and turned his head to stare at her. He was almost her height. Normally, he would smirk at the thought. But not today."It's sad why we have to gather, huh?" He mumbled, posing the question as tough as he could manage. His eyebrows bunched together as he took this as an afterthoiught. "Today's my apprentice ceremony," he added with a flick of his tail. Ever since the first ceremony Jasperkit had witnessed; the one in which Snowstorm played in the snow with him afterwards; he'd been hopeful that the while female would become his mentor. It was impossible, though. Russetpaw was her apprentice. The tom cat turned to stare at another clump of warriors. Fireclaw? No. That hot-head was too harsh. Hazelpelt was a sweet female, but Jasperkit didn't think she'd really be able to handle his.. energy. Silverwolf. His gaze rested on the femme for a moment. She used to mentor Eclipsepaw, right? She would be.. acceptable. Though the orange male couldn't hide his disappointment that Snowstorm could be his teacher. He glanced back over at Scout. Sandstream was comforting him. Where was Applekit? He spotted the queen nod toward the nursery. Figures. His sister was an emotional wreck last night. As his mother gave the ceremonies and news, he took it all with a solemn silence. Setting his mouth in a hard line, he gazed up at her. Would she be alright?

Glancing up as Dawnheart spoke, Fireblaze's creamy orange ears pricked forward, bowing his head in grief when he heard Emberstar had died. Flicking his tail, he glanced over at the kits and blinked, listening as Danheart started a warriors ceromonies. Watching silently, he wondered if he would get an apperintce today, or not. Poor kits, he thought, glancging at Dawnheart's kit and glanced at Dawnheart to see how she was doing. Glancing towards' Reedmist's den, he flicked his tail, shaking his head at another death. Why now? he wondered, focusing on the ceromonies again.

Lilypaw kept her eyes on her friend for a few more seconds before turning her amber gaze up to high rock where her mentor stood. There was something wrong that night...when she found me in the forest. Though she really had no idea if it was just her imagination or not. It could be that Emberstar is getting better and she wants to tell us that. The small mousy she-cat let that small hope fill her chest as she glanced around at the cats gathering. She noticed a lot of warriors where coming out of dens and some where coming back from the same hunting patrol that she had been on not long ago. However the sight of an orange kit running out of no where to his brother caught her attention. They where like her little siblings and it caught her off guard when she saw their expressions. Something has happened, if those balls of happiness are this sad...then...oh no, dawnheart. Lilypaw bit her lip and sighed softly.
How is your training going? Lilypaw, how’s training with Dawnheart? Lilypaw turned her head towards the tall white tom with faded black stripes as he spoke to her and she smiled up at him from where he was sitting, guessing that he was also talking Eclipsepaw as well. Training with Dawnheart is amazing, she's taught me so much. And helped me a lot, given me a place to call family too. She thought and coudln't help but laugh at the tom as he said something to Lighteningflower. She shook her head and glanced at the other warriors that had came towards her. Silverwolf and Hazelpelt, who was farther back it seemed still talking to the kits. But a double take behind her told that Briar had left and that only Scoutkit and Sandstream still stood there.
Lilypaw was about to go over to answer Silverwolf who had spoken when her mentors voice rang out again, pulling Lilypaw's head quickly towards high rock. many of you may be wondering why i am up here, rather than emberstar. . .last night, our leader succumbed to the sickness that had been dogging him for the past half-moon and has left to join starclan. Lilypaw felt like her tail had been shoved down her throat and it amazed her how Dawnheart could sound...so strong when all of this had happened. Thunderclan's safe though, with Dawnheart here still. Though as her mentor kept speaking, Lilypaw couldn't help but turn her eyes towards the medicine cat's den, if Reedmist had caught the same thing that Emberstar had...and their leader had gotten nine lives, the tom that resided in the den only had one, like every other cat. Starclan be with him... The small she-cat coudln't help but then glance in the way that the clan cats bodies where barried when they joined starclan. It was really sad that Emberstar was gone..he'd been leader ever since Lilypaw could remember. We'll be fine.
Whispers where slowly spreading through the cat's around Lilypaw as she glanced towards the she-cat that she'd grown to think of as a best friend. All she wanted to do was really ask her what she was thinking but that would be rude, it was a meeting after all. because emberstar hasn't been able to do the clan duties for the past while, some things have gone unannounced. warrior and apprentice ceremonies namely. Lilypaw couldn't help it, her head turned quickly to look up at Dawnheart, she knew that she had been the she-cats apprentice for six moons now, What if it's me?? And Eclipsepaw?? Her answer was answered quickly, lilypaw, eclipsepaw, step forward please.
Lilypaw couldn't help but freeze for a short second before she smiled softly, feeling like she could just float. I'm becoming a warrior!! She barely noticed as her paws carried her forward, and found herself still standing next to Eclipsepaw. How many times did the two of us guess on if we'd be named warriors togeather? She could remember about ten times, but she kept her gaze up on high rock as Dawnheart's eyes met hers. lilypaw, you have trained hard and well, have been a friend and have become part of my family, and you are more than ready to become a warrior. for that reason, i grant you the name lilysong, honour your clan well. Pride welled up in her chest as she smiled up at Dawnheart, I am so happy to be part of her family. She felt so happy that she was here finally. Thank you so much Dawnheart, for everything!! She returned Dawnheart's smile and glanced at Eclipsepaw as Dawnheart spoke to her. After her friends warriors name was given Lilysong heard Dawnheart speak again. do you both pledge to serve your clan, even at the cost of your life? Lilysong felt her smile drop becoming more sirius and nodded her mousy head. Yes I do. OOC|| Notes|| Haha, long post ish but I got muse!! and Lilypawsong is a warrior!!
