"Knights... Brothers and arms... Your courage has been tested beyond all limits." Black, hueless, a color that does not emit light. White, all of the colors together. Complete opposites. Yet, on Frostpaw, two colors that coincided perfectly. He had just went out on patrol with some warriors and his legs felt tired from the excursion. He might be strong for an apprentice, but he had much shorter legs, being only seven moons old. After picking out a piece of fresh-kill, he padded over to the apprentice's den. Settling down in front of it, where all the apprentices gathered to eat and share tongues, he set down his mouse. The ThunderClan forest was plentiful in mice this time of year, and he sent a thank you up to StarClan for such good hunting. Unfortunately for him, there were no other apprentices around to share some conversational words with. That was the bad thing about being a new apprentice, he didn't know many of his clanmates yet. Frostpaw saw several warriors pass him, some coming from the forest (hunting patrol no doubt,) and others eating at the warriors den. With a sigh, he smiled. What it would feel like to be a warrior! To be able to serve your clan with the strength of LionClan, the speed of LeopardClan, and the fierceness of TigerClan. His one blue and one green eye glanced over the sleekness and muscles of the ThunderClan warriors. One day. One day I'll be just like them, but even better. Frostpaw respected and looked up to the warriors, but it was his goal to become the best warrior in the whole forest, out of the four clans. Why not have big dreams? The further you dream, the further you succeed. The further you fall.Frostpaw shook his head and began to eat his mouse. But eating alone was starting to get to him; he wanted a friend. He was always so polite to everyone, why didn't he have anyone to share a meal with? "No matter," Frostpaw mumbled, with a smile. Everything happens in due time. Frostpaw kneaded the dusty ground with his black and white paws and licked his lips. The mouse was gone; it was a suitable meal for such a small chap. Now, if only someone was here to make an evening conversation with... -- thoughts, speech--[/move]

Haunches bristling and her vivid blue gaze cold, the tabby and white she-cat couldn't help but growl under her breath. She'd been woken up early to go out on a hunting patrol, and even though she was told she could hunt by herself for a while, somehow, she'd ended up being watched, and the tiny little mistakes she made corrected on the spot. If it hadn't been for her great self control at the moment of the incident, she may not have been responsible for the marks the warrior would've earned. Or so she'd like to think. The reality of her actually getting close to injuring the tom was less than possible however, with her already shocking control when she got flared up.
It didn't help that the whole patrol were told about her 'slip up' either. So now, the two small mice she'd actually managed to catch hanging from her jaws, she stalked into the camp clearing, making a bee-line for the elders den. After all, she wasn't going to stick around long enough for someone to get their nose out of joint and correct her movements. However, even that action seemed to have a hostile ending, with her being sent out, seeing as someone had already fed them. Irritation flared across the tabby and white she-cat's short pelt as she almost threw the mice onto the pile, ignoring her own grumbling belly. However hungry her body was feeling, she didn't think she'd be able to avoid being sick with the amount of dirt that was still in her mouth from that trip.
Looking about the clearing however, Skypaw forced herself to take a deep breath through her jaws, which only ended in dirt getting lodged in her windpipe, and a violent coughing fit to follow close behind. Today just wasn't her day. Groaning as her coughing subsided, the she-cat found herself meeting the black and white form of Frostpaw. She'd never really had the chance to talk to the tom before, even though they were the same age and were apprenticed at the same time. Well, that was lying, they may have talked before, but she didn't remember. Her missing memories and her frustrating day did nothing to help the she-cat's nerves as she found her paws moving without her, straight toward the other apprentice.
“Geez, I'd almost think you're upset to be alone, with that look on your face,” she meowed dryly as she reached the tom, raising an eyebrow at him from her standing position. Okay, not the best way to start a conversation, but it was a start, and in the mood she was in, that was as good as it was going to get. Sitting down beside the other apprentice, she ducked her head slightly. “So, I suppose I'll just have to come keep you company.” Studying the tom's face for a moment, the scent of the prey at his paws only reminded her belly of it's emptiness, and as it decided to bring this up, she promptly dropped into a lying position, silencing it.
“So, having a good day? I noticed you were on the earlier patrol.” Yeah. How could she not. After all, they'd scared off her first mouse, and were the reason she'd got a mouth full of dirt chasing after it in the first place.
