God bless us everyone We're a broken people living under loaded gun
The Doctor wasn't paying attention. Had that detail occurred to Gorseclaw when he lashed out at the loner who had attacked him, he would have been much more confident. Infinitely more confident. But the combination of nerves gnawing at his stomach and blood roaring in his ears left Gorseclaw on his guard and overestimating. Lucky. If he hadn't been, he probably wouldn't have connected with The Doctor's face.
Gorseclaw felt his claws tear into The Doctor's skin. In that same instant, the injured tom jumped back out of Gorseclaw's reach. He had only made contact for a second, but his paw was dripping with The Doctor's blood. Gorseclaw shook the warm liquid from his claws as his opponent regained his bearings. It likely hadn't been a good idea to allow the loner before him to clear his head, but Gorseclaw's head was murky also. He was still shaken up from the hit that he had taken just before.
The Doctor started to circle. Gorseclaw brought his paw back to the ground, dropping into a defensive crouch. At the other side of the barn, the two she-cats brawled. Calypso seemed to be a vicious fighter, but Maplepaw was holding her own against her. Gorseclaw was glad. Had Maplepaw been getting tossed around by the loner that she was fighting, Gorseclaw likely would have been blamed, and that would have been the end of him. The only thing that Gorseclaw was sure of was that he wouldn't have been able take on both The Doctor and Calypso, especially when he was barely on top of his own fight.
To Gorseclaw's dismay, The Doctor's brown eyes brightened with resolve. Crap. Great, he's got a plan now, doesn't he? What kind of idiot lets their mind wander in battle? The Doctor ran at him, lowered his head, and smashed his head into Gorseclaw's ribs.
Gorseclaw let out a cry of pain as the force of the blow threw him several feet from his assailant. With a shuddering breath, Gorseclaw's legs buckled and his head collapsed into his paws. He was sure that he blacked out for a second because when he looked up, The Doctor wasn't in the same place as before. The pain in his side was excruciating. It blurred his vision, messed with his hearing, and made Gorseclaw wish that darkness would claim him again. His mouth was wet with blood and breathing was a painful process. The last thing that he wanted to do was to try to stand and keep fighting, but the loner before him reminded him of what was at stake. This wasn't a joke. This pain was real. And if Gorseclaw didn't get over it, The Doctor could honestly kill him.
So Gorseclaw dragged himself to his feet. The way his legs shook made him feel like a newborn kit. He wanted to lay down. A look at The Doctor reminded him of his mission. He needed to drive away the cat in front of him. Then he could lay down and then he could nurse his wounds.
Between the searing pain of each breath, Gorseclaw spoke. You... You can't... Break me... You... You... Insults escaped the amber-eyed tom. He roared. Screamed. He couldn't be in pain, he had to be above it. He couldn't loose to this loner, he had to be above him. And that thought put an idea in his head. As fast as he could, Gorseclaw ran towards The Doctor. His left front paw, being on his uninjured side, lashed out for The Doctor's shoulder. If Gorseclaw was lucky, he might be able to grapple with his opponent, and overpower him. If that could happen, The Doctor's soft underbelly would be waiting. But, in Gorseclaw's state, that would take a lot of luck.

And that's what you've opened right above the Earth! Hell is descending!
x.x dull pain in his head fogged up is vision for a moment as his head collided with his oppent's ribcage. a yowl of pain and surprise erupted in the barn as gorseclaw was pushed threw the air. the doctor was surprised with his own strength and he became frightened as he saw blood coming out of the clan cat's mouth.
oh, if there is any type of god above me...please don't let him be dead. i don't know if i can kill any more cats. but then the tom saw gorseclaw's eyes open, and his slow breathing became quick and ragged. it was obvious that he had caused his oppenant pain. he flicked his tail trying to tell himself that he was defending himself.
favouring his left paw he took a tiny step forwards when gorseclaw staggered to his paws. You... You can't... Break me... You... You... and then the tom let out a terrifying sound. a sound half way between a roar and a scream. but this didn't scare the doctor. he had been in war before, real war, and he was ready.
however, he wasn't ready for the sharp pain in his shoulder as flesh was ripped open. a shriek louder then anything split his own eardrums, and he felt ashamed. ashamed at himself for everything in his past and now his present. he felt anger at the two strangers that disturbed the peace. and when he broke away from gorseclaw and saw his shoulder, he felt anger at his flesh for being so soft.
a red hue was tinted around his eyes and the doctor knew he was going into his deadly state of blood lust. it was dangerous for the tom because he lost all of what was right and wrong. but maybe that would help him in the battle, because this was going to be a long one. the doctor flattened his ears so it looked like he no longer had any and threw himself at gorseclaw. no complicated moves came in mind now, this was just a full wrestle. a mass of screaming, hissing, balls of teeth and claws.
WORD COUNT;; 462 STARRING;; calypso, the doctor, gorseclaw, and maplepaw FIGHTING;; gorseclaw MUSE;; it's hard to tell again. xD COMMENTS;; ah...the fighting. xD and ignore any miss-spellings. i'm in a hury.

the minute her paws made contact with he she-cats face maplepaw smiled triumphantly. she felt her claws rip through the she-cat's ear, and smugly held her paw in the air for a moment longer. calypso backed away for a moment, blinking blood out of her eye rapidly, before looking up with a very pissed off expression on her face. good. you think that you can beat a clan cat, this is exactly what you get, she thought smugly. sure maplepaw couldn't beat a warrior but a loner wouldn't be so much trouble. or so she thought
the murderous look that calypso wore on her face reminded her of midnight. that sparked fear. the fact that the she-cat's eyes even remotely looked like hers for a second was enough to send shivers down maplepaw's spine. thoughts her mentor's of claws flashed in her mind, but with this new sensation came excitement. the excitement of fighting her own battle. this time there was no one there to help her. it was dangerous, and, well, she liked it. it was a thrill. after all, how could she lose when she was under training with the best fighter in existence? thats how the black and white she-cat felt anyway. maplepaw smiled, her forest green gaze turning to calypso, just as she began to speak. "You wretch!"
|
[/b][/color] she hissed through bared teeth her expression hostile. but the closer she looked she couldn't see any resembalnce between her glare and midnight's. she had nothing to fear from this loner. "You chose the wrong cat to mess with, you piece of clan trash." maplepaw's eyes narrowed. are you sure its us thats trash?[/b] she teased, wrinkling her nose. her green eyes sparkled. the multi colored she-cat spat. she tried not to show she was about to do anything but the slight bunching of her muscles told maplepaw that yes, she was leaping. where, maplepaw could only anticipate. her eyes darted to the left as calypso leaped onto a barrel, her paws barley toughing it before she tried to leap on maplepaw's back. she's trying the leap and hold, maplepaw registered. her insticts kicked in, like they did during training with misnight. no leaf grabbing the order rung in her head, so without hesitation she jumped to the left. not far enough. the feeling in her stomach told her if she looked up calypso would be almost on top of her. she thought in the millisecond she had of how she could dodge. her mind flashed briefly to the cat ricocheting off the barrel. to do that she needed...momentum. midnight said that this would do best with a smaller cat. meaning, if i can manage to throw her off, her own weight can work with me, she thought just as she felt the she-cat's claws on her pelt. she lurched forward, throwing her lower half in the air, despite the pain of the claws ripping into her pelt and the she-cats teeth on her neck. she felt the claws suddenly rip out of her pelt, taking clawfuls of hair with her. the pain was agonizing as she felt the she-cat's teeth rip off of her neck, but in return it got calypso off of her. breathing hard, the black and white she-cat could feel blood seeping out of the back of her neck. shit, i need to end this soon! she thought, blinking. calypso was on her feet now, maybe she needed a different approach, but what could she do? midnight had told her not to openly attack an opponet bigger than that, and besides, she had already tried that. it hadn't gone very well. don't bite off more than you can chew,[/b] she spat at the she-cat bunching her muscles for a mighty leap. i'll give that one a try too, she thought, attempting to leap onto calypso's back. if she made it, she would hold on, refusing to let go. if not, she would be in perfect position for an attack, would she not? are you sure its us thats trash? Calypso laughed. She knew who were the good guys in this world. Who attacked cats were weren't hurting anyone? Two loners were simply hanging out in their own territory, and two clan cats attack them. It was an ambush and nothing less than that. As she launched her body onto Maplepaw's, she could tell something was off. Just then, Maplepaw slid to the left, but not fast enough. She still felt her claws in the black and white pelt, and her teeth in the scruff of her neck. But she was suddenly ripped out of the cat and thrown off. The stupid apprentice had somehow tossed the heavier cat off. No way. How did she know her technique? It wasn't known by the clan cats, that she knew. This small cat was something else, there was more to her. Not good. don't bite off more than you can chew. Well I took a good amount of your flesh, perhaps you should know what you're talking about. Calypso was on her feet and ready for this little cat's next attack. She wouldn't be shown up by a puny clan cat apprentice. Calypso was used to years of avoiding the clans, and this was exactly the reason why. Suddenly Maplepaw had launched herself up and towards her back. Too easy. She felt her claws hook into her calico pelt and she winced. But this was a part of the plan. As soon as she could feel the apprentice on her back, she flipped backwards. Falling into the hay bale, Maplepaw was crushed underneath her. Knowing this might not be enough she surged forward off of the hay and onto the ground and flipped again, the cement and the apprentice meeting together with a thud. Such a small cat couldn't take that much. It would either suffocate her or break her bones. Calypso didn't want to be a killer...But if she had to, she would.
