Shifteye slowed her pace as they neared Thinderpath. She stopped at the side of the road and waited for Runepaw.

Runepaw inwardly cringed as he got a whiff of Thunderpath. He sat next to Shifteye and looked at her expectingly.

"Across this part of Thunderpath is Thunderclan territory, I recognize the scent from when I met Fireheart at the Gathering. Of course, you musn't tresspass or hunt on their land. Shadowclan cats must always keep our scent here fresh." As if to give and example, she left her scent on the boundary. "As a Warrior of Shadowclan, it will be one of your duties to mark the borders. This is the only boundary we have with another clan." She continued down Thunderpath, to continue to freshen the scent markings.

Runepaw trotted along beside his mentor. "So this is the only place we have to patrol?"

"No. There are loners on the other side of the Thunderpath we crossed whenw e journied to Highstones. We must make sure that they don't hunt on our land. Prey is scarce enough. We've already been there though. Let's pass through the marsh and see if we can get some freshkill." She said all of this whil continuing to patrol the Shadowclan-Thunderclan borders. Then she sprinted off towards the marsh.
