The sun was half-way gone when Dawnstar called for a meeting. Mintpaw had finished changing the elders nest. It was one of the duties for an apprentice, which many disliked, but not for him. The elders were practically his friends since the little tom visited them every day when he was still at the nursery. And changing the moss was at least something that didn’t need talents. The apprentice padded to the highrock. He chooses a place behind the crowd, and sat quietly. As he knew, Emberstar died recently. As an apprentice, he didn’t know much of the leader, only that he was a wonderful leader and a great warrior. His gaze spotted his kits. In somehow, he felt lucky to have lost the memory of his real parents. This way, the tricolour cat didn’t know of the pain of losing.
He watched the cat being called to the highrock, he saw the happiness in their eyes. A small voice in his head asked him if one day, he will be there, receiving his warrior name. It was his dream. *Do you really think you are going to make it through?* A nasty though teased him. The apprentice shook his head. *Yes, yes I think. I wasn’t found for nothing, it was meant to be.* He fiercely responded to himself. *Do you think so? Maybe you are just a rogue. As you were meant to be.* This time, Mintpaw didn’t reply. He had always believed that he worked hard, his destiny was his. That any dream could be possible. The words echoed in his head. What if destiny wasn’t a thing we could control? Could this all be a joke?
“spottedpaw and mintpaw, both of you have gone too long without a proper mentor. fireclaw, you have always been a loyal warrior even if you have a sharp tongue. i expect that you will be able to pick up spottedpaw's training with ease. silverwolf, you were well trained and have served the clan well, so i know that you will be able to finish off mintpaw's training.” Mintpaw lift his head. He smiled then walked calmly to exchange greeting with his mentor, then he sat beside her. She was a great warrior, with her help; he will surely be able to become one. *Haha, don’t you have a heart? You will only bring shame on you mentor, on your clan.* Anger burst through his body. He wanted that this side of him would go away, he wanted to have hope in himself. *Oh, you don’t want me to go. I’m you friend. I’m the only strong side you have. You.need.me.* Maybe it was true. Maybe, it was the only thing left of him that wasn’t weak. He cursed at himself, and shook his head.
The little tom looked at his father, at the other side of the crowd. Then his gaze posed again on Silverwolf. Inside, he smiled. He still believed in his dream. He still believed to be that warrior and to receive his name under the stars of the ancestor. *Just watch.*

As Silvestern waited for Dawnheart to continue, she thought hard about becoming a deputy. She had never realized how much she had wanted i until now. Then she tried to imagine if she wasn't picked to be deputy... Maybe she could become ThunderClan's medicine cat. she wasn't super interested in it, but she knew most of the herbs, and had seen the formal ThunderClan medicine cat working. She knew how to do most of the stuff, but would she want to? Being a deputy was so much better. She sent a silent preyer to StarClan that Dawnheart would choose her to be deputy.
Then, while sitting beside her, Silverwolf noticed Mintpaw fidgeting. By the look of it, something was wrong or was disturbing her. Silverwolf rested her tail on Mintpaw's shoulders, then bent over and whispered, "Are you alright Mintpaw? Is something bothering you?" As much as Silverwolf wanted to concentrate on the Gathering, and listen to the announcing of the new deputy, she wanted to make sure that her new apprentice was OK. If something was wrong, Silverwolf wanted to know so she could help in every way possible. She wanted to show her clan that she could train an apprentice to be a great warrior! And if something was in the way of that, Silverwolf would get it out of the way, no matter what the cost.
Muse; Not too good... I have to go in ten minutes, so I'm kinda rushed.... Words; 223 Notes; ---
