His paws were heavy as he finally slipped into camp. It was empty, but he had to think that was due to most being either out hunting, on another patrol, or as backup at the battle that had commenced what seemed like only moments before. His neck and side were in pain, burning now instead of just throbbing as he would have preferred.
It made him a bit sick even, and he stumbled toward Cinderdust's den in a haze of pain and exhaustion. What was becoming of his Clanmates? Had RiverClan also gone for assistance? He prayed not. There was enough going on then, and his thoughts dribbled away as he noisily entered the medicine cat's den.
Always he entered like that. With no voice to call out with he had to. The sharp smell of herbs hit him, almost in a stunning way. He was not used to such fresh scents. Perhaps the adrenalin that was rushing through his body was placing his nose under that much more pressure to work. He let it pass, and took a heavy seat, almost collapsing. His side was still bleeding a little, mainly from moving so much and not letting it clot properly, and his neck was as well.
It was times like these that he wished that he had a voice. It would help him keep away the pain, and at the same time he would be able to explain everything he could so much easier.

Cinderdust was calmly arranging the herbs that fell in little piles at the edge of her den, small paws working steadily, if a bit shakily, to keep things neat and clean. She was a tidy and organized cat, and both were skills that were particularly useful to medicine cats, especially when it came to healing wounds. Her emerald gaze was clear as she glanced towards the pool of water that flowed gently across the back wall of the den and sighed faintly.
A shuffling noise at the entrance to her den made the young medicine cat stop and look over one shoulder, her mouth falling open as her gaze fell upon Silentbreeze, who stumbled across the sandy floor in an irregular pattern, blood splattered across his coat. Breathing in the rusty scent, Cinderdust found her voice and spoke calmly. "silentbreeze, i'm going to treat your wounds, alright? it might hurt a little, but i would never hurt you." she dipped her paws into a small pile next to the pool and hurried forward, already wadding up cobwebs and chewing comfrey. She gently dripped the juice into the large wounds that she could find, before covering them expertly with a mixture of gumweed and cobwebs. That would keep them closed and safe from infection. The gray queen hurried back to her stores for a ball of moss and some poppy seeds, dropping the moss into the cool water before bringing it over to Silentbreeze. She placed it by his muzzle and gently rubbed his throat to help him swallow. "i need you to drink this," she said quietly, placing the poppy seeds next to his head.
380 Silentbreeze here we go!

He trusted the she-cat, knowing that he could trust her. He hissed in pain at the sting of his wounds being touched. It was irritating, but he would live with it. He drank the provided water, closing his eyes at the cool liquid sliding down his throat. It was wonderful, so wonderful.
He lay his head down, glancing to the poppy seeds. Would he need to take those as well? He didn't mind if he did. He knew he was hurt, and didn't want to cause the clan any strife right as it was getting back on it's paws AND dealing with RiverClan. He made a couple motions with his tail, asking a question. 'How bad?' He wanted an assessment of his wounds...not that it would help him get back to the battlefield. He would need to recover for that and who knew how long that process would take.

The gray tom hissed as her healing medicines worked their magic, healing him slowly and painfully. The young queen winced in sympathy as she watched him swallow the water, his eyes closing in gratitude. he glanced towards the poppy seeds, clearly wondering how bad his wounds were.
"you got beat up pretty bad out there," Cinderdust meowed, her gaze darkening. "you've got some bad wounds on your neck and sides, but nothing that i can't fix. it might take a moon to heal, at the most." she nudged the poppy seeds towards his mouth, wondering what had happened. She could scent RiverClan on his pelt - had they started it? Or was it her own beloved Clan that had dealt the first blow?
"eat these," she murmured, almost distractedly. She would be able to move him into one of the mossy nests that lined the smoothed walls before he fell asleep, making way for any more wounded warriors or apprentices that came in.
271 Silentbreeze wop bam boom.

Hearing this, he could only wonder what would happen to his apprentice's training? He bristled at the thought of the neglect, but calmed when he forced himself to accept it. If he were to hurt himself even more in training... what good would come to the clan? They would need to wait just that much longer for one warrior to be back on their paws to defend the clan.
He looked to the herbs that were pushed to his muzzle and licked them up, being careful to swallow them all so that he would be able to heal. It made him sleepy and almost immediately the pain dulled a bit, leaving him to look back to the medicine cat, wanting to know where he would be staying while he recovered.

Cinderdust indicated the mossy piles lining the walls, and smiled encouragingly at Silentbreeze. All he had to do was pick one, lay down, and fall asleep. When he woke up, she would be there, and she would reapply the medicines to his wounds. Hopefully, soon he would be ready to train his apprentice again.
"pick any one of them." she meowed. "you're my only patient at the moment." And hopefully for a long time, she thought wearily, padding to the back of the den where her own den was hidden behind a sheet of rock. It was small and comfortable, pricks of light shining in from cracks in the roof. She loved her den, and yet at times, it was lonely, with the dusty shadows and the silences that stretched on for hours. She would have loved to keep someone company.
Her thoughts drifted to her Clanmates, to the apprentices and the kits. Would she take any of them as her own apprentice? It was a big step for her, especially since Windpelt had just retired a few moons ago. But eventually, she would have to pick someone. The young medicine cat shook her head and curled up in her den, closing her emerald eyes. Her thoughts drifted, to StarClan, to the battle, to a particular striped tabby tom . . .
324 Silentbreeze do you want him to wake up and it can be the next morning?

At first he was confused with what she meant, dazed from the feelings of pain, of sleep, of the racing thoughts in his head He stood, shakily at first, and moved over to a moss nest that looked welcoming. He curled up, laying down and letting out a sigh. What was going on back at the battle? What was happening? He wished he could return, but the injuries were so painful....he didn't know what he could do at that point, so he did the only thing that would probably help in the long run. He lay his head down, and rested.
(( If you'd want him to. I wouldn't mind playing him more XD He's been in...all of four role plays counting this one XD ))

The medicine cat that occupied the farthest den in the WindClan camp gazed around her with sleepy green eyes. What time was it? The sun was still peeking over the horizon - what was she doing up? With a sigh, the gray shadow got to her small paws and stretched, pink tongue curling in a yawn. Nosing aside the lichen that divided her den from the larger one outside, Cinderdust's gaze focused on her only patient, Silentbreeze. The smoky gray tom was fast asleep, thanks to the poppy seeds that she had given him earlier. Placing one paw silently in front of the other, the young queen moved towards the pool of water that gently trickled at the back of her den. She lapped at the surface, and the icy water immediately woke her senses. Rain and fresh kill and sunshine. Her stomach grumbled hungrily, and the she-cat glanced towards Silentbreeze before slipping out of the den, heading for the fresh-kill pile. She selected a nice rabbit, in case Silentbreeze woke up soon, and dragged it back to her stony den, depositing it in the far corner. She was starving. As she ate the surprisingly juicy rabbit, the she-cat's thoughts wandered to, what else, Stripestar. She wondered what he was doing, how he was faring, if he still despised her for what she had said to Stripestar. Her eyes filled with regret as she pictured his face, filled with anger and betrayal. Nothing had happened. It was a chance meeting. Ripping angrily at her meal, Cinderdust realized that she had a patient, and sighing, pushed the rabbit away. She headed to the back of her den, where tiny piles of colorful herbs lined the walls, and selected a nice comfrey root. Approaching Silentbreeze, she gently nudged his shoulder, hoping that she could wake him out of his deep, deep sleep.

He was having such a wonderful dream. Running through the territories, speaking with friends, fighting away dogs.... and yes, SPEAKING. It was so sad that it would have to end so horribly soon. He didn't know that really though, but the nudge and a sharp pain when he moved had to wake him up.
His eyes opened, groggy and full of sleep. He felt stiff and sore. What had happened? He blinked up, seeing Cinderdust. Why was he at the medicine cat den? With another little move, and the burn in his side, he remembered a bit. There was a battle, and he'd been hurt.
He yawned and lay his head down again, not wanting to move a lot. His neck was bothering him and he felt hungry and thirsty as well. He looked up to the medicine cat and twitched his ears questioningly, letting out a yawn.

The gray warrior moved slighly, and his sightless eyes clouded with pain. Cinderdust winced in sympathy, placing a gentle paw on his shoulder, trying to feel the damage and see if the medicine was working. Her paws skimmed expertly, although she was still slightly sleepy. She would reapply the medicine and then let him eat and sleep some more. Hopefully his shoulder would be healed soon - nothing was broken. He was just a bit beat up. Moving towards the back of the cave, she moistened a moss ball and gently placed it in front of the warrior, motioning with her tail. Next came the rabbit, and she dragged it towards him, leaving it within reaching distance. She didn't want Silentbreeze to strain himself trying to move around, and it would be easier for him to rest if he didn't move about too much. "why don't you eat and drink a bit, and then i can reapply the medicines?"
Cinderdust meowed politely. There was really no question, but she was trying to be nice. She knew what to do, and he would do it for her if he wanted his shoulder to heal. The gray queen was already heading back to her herbs, selecting them carefully and placing them on a wide leaf. She began mixing them steadily, trying to push the thoughts in her head away so she could focus. 266 sorry it's been so long! and it's so short! ):[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]

The injured warrior nodded, shivering a little bit as he moved to eat and drink. Tasting the cool water and the wonderful refreshing and delicious rabbit...it made him feel just that much better. He let out a slight purr, eyes drooping closed as he looked over to see the medicine cat working. It seemed almost too intricate, but that was probably his pain-hazed judgement. He wanted to ask what exactly that she was doing...but he didn't know if she'd understand or not. He left it alone then, looking back to the sky instead as he waited.
