SWIFTPAW OF RIVERCLAN
________________________________________________________________
Name: swiftpaw.
Age: eight moons.
Gender: tom.
Clan: riverclan.
Rank: apprentice.
________________________________________________________________
Reason For Name:swift: based off of how his pelt mirrored the feathers of the bird: black with white on chest and occasionally the face. as he grew older, the name seemed to grow along with him as ‘swift’ also came to reflect his agility and speed.
Previous Names: swiftkit – currently swiftpaw.

One Sentence Description: black and white tom with olive green eyes and long whiskers.
Appearance:with a lithe build, swiftpaw’s sleek body structure lacks any definite mass. compared to many his age, he is quite tall, supported by thin long legs with awkwardly large paws. his paws happen to be his most defining feature, subtly hinting towards the size he will grow into in the near future, leaving behind his currently bony figure. lean muscles barely visible under his pelt are locked in place, giving him the bit of size of that he does have. the apprentice’s hind legs in particular are larger and more lengthy than the front as some cats are, giving him the ease of pouncing with more power to the leap. the tom’s handsome slender face is evenly proportioned, wide ears sitting atop of his head, longer strands of white sprouting from the tips. long whiskers breach out from his muzzle, white in contrast to the black on his face, causing them to stand out all the more.
when it comes to the coloration of his pelt, swiftpaw’s base coat is a deep black. in the undercoat, the occasional mahogany piece of hair is here and there, dotted among his body. the young cat’s paws are dipped in white, drawing up to about the elbow before fading into a smoky gray and receding back to the black coloration. his fur is colored white on his chest and reaches up to his chin where it spreads over the front of his muzzle and ends between his eyes.
the apprentice's eyes take on a naturally narrowed shape and are olive green in color.

Personality:the first thing you'd come to find out about swiftpaw is that he's extremely outgoing. his extroverted nature makes him easily approachable and he often stirs up conversation or interest in others. the young tom doesn't seem to have any lick of shyness within him whatsoever, causing him to appear confident and assured. in fact, he is, but his confidence is often mistaken for him being a know-it-all or just bossy. swiftpaw doesn't watch his tongue before speaking and on many occasions, has said a few things idiotic or something to anger another cat. being as impulsive as he is, its expected as well as his rather 'brash' actions at times.
unfortunately, the last thing that the tom is, is quiet. swiftpaw is a bit of a loudmouth which results in him being the common annoying apprentice. he does know when to tone it down and be quiet, though that doesn't halt his rock hard determination and perseverance. that being said, swiftpaw isn’t one to quit easily. even when his hopes are low or things are looking bleak, he’s forever the optimistic and can find some speck of goodness in whatever the situation. he may even be a bit crestfallen himself but despite that he’s going to work his way up. as best as he can, swiftpaw attempts to fear nothing. this leads him to some self-destructive behavior such as taking risks when fighting or arguing back with those senior to him. the apprentice tries to ‘live on the edge’ and after self-titling himself fearless, he’s become very adventurous and doesn’t mind just wandering around territory or searching for things he’s never noticed before.
despite contrary belief, in no way is swiftpaw brainless. the tom is quite smart and a quick thinker. instead, he doesn’t seem to use his common sense as often as he should and is frequently corrected. many are often surprised when swiftpaw becomes analytical and strategic, as he plans things in out in his mind first, but instead of selling the idea to others, he acts on his own – hence the impulsiveness. but with things such as protecting his clan and learning how to be a proper warrior, swiftpaw is quite the diligent spirit and work-oriented when it comes time to be serious.
although he can be selfish, rather working to satisfy himself instead of others, swiftpaw is a compassionate and caring soul. when it comes to the feelings of his clanmates swiftpaw will be wholeheartedly concerned. the apprentice is intimate and would rather be close and glued to his friends instead of being distant. because of this, specifically with she-cats, he’s a bit of a charmer and generally sweet minded. at times, his selfish attitude can prevent him for going out of his way to make another cat happy. depending on the closeness, he may help you out as best as he can, but if you don’t list in his ‘circle’ he’ll be hesitant and have second thoughts to things.
like a kit, he can also lose interest very quickly, ending up bored and searching for something else to do. if nothing else is available, complaining for him is the next best step. all in all, swiftpaw’s sometimes “childish” attitude can be straightened up easily – with guidance, of course.
Likes:fishing, leisure time, training, elder stories, kits, bragging when he feels he's done an exceptional job, sharing tongues, patrols, being able to be loud, adventuring, medicine cats - their job is so important, he happens to admire them, small minor spats, being a mini-troublemaker, gatherings
Dislikes:being corrected, the taste of squirrels, senseless fighting, boredom, rejection, sleepless nights, being told to "be quiet", leafbare - he cant stand the snow, being lock-downed in camp, quitters, cats who think too much, being viewed as unintelligent, getting his claws snagged

History:born the only kit in his litter, swiftpaw clung to his mother as his main source of support and comfort. he relied on her for nearly everything and enjoyed the closeness that he experienced with her. swiftpaw was encouraged by his mother, flowertail, to bond with the other kits in the nursery instead of just her. once reclusive and shy, after being in contact with others he slowly opened up, becoming as outgoing as he is today.
being led on by another kit in the nursery one night, they planned to leave to the outside of the camp to get a view of things. a heavy greenleaf rain had just passed through and the river was unusually high where the two kits stumbled too. unfortunately, swiftpaw's companion had tumbled down into the waters and washed off downstream. despite his young age at the time of the loss, he became quite protective of his friends, urging them to always behave and do the correct thing though his venturous ways had yet to die down.
when it was time to leave the nursery, swiftpaw had matured greatly and became distant from his mother in the process. the queen didn’t seem to mind and instead pushed him on to become more independent. at his apprenticing ceremony, swiftpaw was all but nervous. he had climbed up in front of everyone and after being deemed swiftpaw, took on a whole new attitude. no longer was he feeble and shy, although his size would portray so to some of the heavier cats, he acted as boldy as an esteemed leader would do.
not much has happened within swiftpaw’s apprenticeship and everything has been running decently for him… so far.
IC Example:Eyes narrowed, the apprentice glared out ahead of him, his tail lashing back and forth behind him. His claws extended, kneading down into the wet soil beneath him and he seemed to relax visibly at how the moist earth felt between his toes. Shoulders slumping, green eyes squeezed shut as he released an exaggerated sigh. Honestly, he had seen better days and he had no idea why he just felt so frustrated. Just after his training, he had gotten up and went to the two-leg bridge to rest on the riverbed and hopefully, calm his stressed mind.
A lot had been going on in the clan lately. Even after the coming of green-leaf, things usually seemed to calm noticeably but there was just so much tension. To be honest, he could sense it from all the clans actually. In his mind, the young apprentice knew that this wasn’t what had been getting him so down because he knew that eventually, all this pressure was going to blow over and lead back to the peace that felt so close but yet so far. With another huff, he wracked his mind for any idea of something to do before he headed back to camp. Something less boring, matter of factly.
His sight shifted down towards the lake as he watched a small fish dart by after a piece of rock grass and suck the piece down like he would do a water vole after a hard day at work. Lowering his front half slowly as not to stir the rocks near the river, his mouth parted as he took in the waters murky scent as the faint taste of fish caused his mouth to water. Lifting a paw and raising it just above the waters surface, he inched forward carefully, slowly, until – CAW!
The shrill screech of a bird behind him caused him to drop his paw in the water just before whirling around, his hind legs scrabbling down into the shallow depths of this section of the river. Eyes wide, he spotted the bird flying away, a mouse locked between its talons before it faded off into the distance. Stepping from the water, Swiftpaw couldn’t help but laugh as he shook his hind paws, a smile curling over his features. He supposed it was the simple things in everyday life that made things worthwhile. All the worry and grief he was causing himself was completely unnecessary. Laughing seemed to take care of that problem.
