D o v e f l i g h t;; say you'll haunt me too.
drip, drip, drip, drip. That was all Doveflight heard as she slept. She was annoyed by the temperature change. It went from sunny, to dark within moments. White fluffy flakes fell down from the sky, and they were very cold. She hated them with a passion. She was just glad to be back in her warm den. The she-cat then heard a loud crack, and jumped awake. Her golden orbs widened with much fear. Cautiously she got to her paws and shook the moss from her pelt.
She stepped outside, and looked around. The clan seemed to be quiet this late at night. After that loud crash though, she couldn't sleep and was on edge. She did not want anything to happen to her clan mates, so she decided she would sit by the den.
The night was cold, and she shivered as the wind blew. It felt like she was literally being covered in ice. Doveflight grunted and lay outside of the den on the cold white ground. Her eyes were still open to see if anything or anyone was coming, but she heard nothing. Just the wind, and dripping of the white flakes.
She then heard a snap behind her, sounding like it came from the den. Groggily, she got to her paws and meowed quietly, "Who's there?" She obviously didn't want to scare anyone off, but she also did not want anything to happen to her clan-mates.

Another night, another nightmare. Feathertail couldn't get the crying kit out of her dreams. She always awoke as the kit's cries got too unbearable. She woke up startled and disoriented. Her breathe heavy and unfamiliar. Her heart was always beating fast like she'd been running for many moons. She couldn't shake off the feeling when she woke. The feeling of eyes staring at her from the reeds, taunting her, Every time she closed her eyes to drift off into slumber, the nightmare arose from the darkest slumbers of her subconscious. She tossed and turned in the moss, distorting her usually neat bed. She sat up in the warrior's den, wide awake. Her icy blue eyes fixated on a single spot on the wall. Her tail twitched back and forth as it often did. The drip drip drip outside helped soothe her mind. A rhythm of winter, a common sound. An endless cycle of freezing and melting, until newleaf came again. With it the sound of the birds.
A cat stirred in the den. Another sleepless acquaintance. Feathertail's ears pricked forward . A loud crack, her eyes narrowed as her head turned toward the den entrance. Feathertail rose to her paws as did the other cat, Doveflight she assumed from the pelt, a white with patches of dusty brown. Her hackles raised on her back, she fell into a crouch. She was always one to attack first and ask questions later. " Who's there?" Doveflight mewed cautiously. "It's just me" Feathertail softly mewed in return. She joined Doveflight, nodding to he she-cat as she sat down beside her. She didn't want to make noise, case the intruder made another loud noise to give himself or herself away. Even if it wasn't an intruder and just some branch, at least they were prepared. Wouldn't be caught off guard. Not like she was sleeping anyways.
The wind blew across Feathrtail's fur, she shivered under its embrace. The world was silent, except for the wind and the dripping sound. Sh watched the white flakes fall from the sky, they piled up on the ground covering it in whiteness. She gazed out toward the entrance, her tail twitching back and forth, waiting, anticipating just in case.

She heard a faint stir behind her. Blinking the sleep from her golden eyes, she sat up again. It was just Feathertail, to her relief. Her eyes changed from nervousness, to friendliness within seconds of the encounter, and she smiled ear to ear. It was always nice to have a friend she could count on to keep her company. The night was so dark, and personally Doveflight did not like to be alone in the dark. It made her feel very uneasy and made her flash back to the day she got out of camp as a kit.
Her ear flicked, and water fell off it. She got to her paws, and smiled at Feathertail. Quietly, trying not to wake the others, she meowed, "Nice night, eh? I woke up from the crash I heard." She looked around at that moment, and saw nothing to indicate what had really happened. She figured at dawn, she would find out just what happened and how much damage was really done, if any.
The cream and white colored she-cat curled her tail around her paws. She wasn't shy, but honestly she didn't know if the silver she-cat was up for talk. She assumed she woke up for the same reason as her. Doveflight was a light sleeper after all. Any little movement or stir, she could hear. That was why most of the time she never slept normally through the night.
Most of the time Doveflight stirred in her den, trying to get comfortable before the dawn patrol started up. She never really got much sleep. Leaf-bare was the worst time for her. She liked to sleep more, because it was so cold, and the comfort of her den was all too much. It always put the she-cat to sleep.
As the wind blew one more time, the she-cat shivered and joined Feathertail. She was indeed cold, and did not like the way that felt. She wished she could sleep normally, but anymore she did not know what normal was.

Feathertail liked the smell of the night air. It was especially inviting in winter. With the white flakes came a fresh scent, clean and crisp She loved the way it filled her lungs. She was more of a night owl. The nightmares kept her awake most of the time. She found comfort in the stillness, the music of the night. How calm it all was. She couldn't shake the dream though. Every night she would get a little farther down the river. It reminded her of the kit she'd saved many moons ago, the one that had smelled like ShadowClan. The small black and white tom, Frostkit. Her head shot nervously toward the nursery. Her muscles urged her to go check the den, she felt uneasy.
But she did most of the time when it came to the little kit. He was very small for his age and young too. N one had claimed him, no one had waned him. But her, something hit a string in her heart. She visited him quite often, he was rambunctious, curious, and brave. He would make a great warrior someday. But the dreams, what could StarClan be saying? What were they trying to reveal to her. Only time would tell the path of the little kit.
She blinked dreamily back at Doveflight, she had been lost in her own thoughts. "Nice night, eh? I woke up from the crash I heard." the white she-cat's mews were warm and inviting. Feathertail nodded, " I head it too, I wonder what it was. " she peered around the clearing, her blue eyes tracing the reeds. But everything was silent and still. The silver tabby gave Doveflight a mall smile and then shook her head, " truth is I'm not sleeping much. Something just doesn't feel right on nights like these. " her mew was soft as the wind.

The night went on, and white flakes fell from the sky. The moon was reflecting down on her pelt now, and she sighed softly. She was now thinking about how much longer the cold weather would last. To her liking, hopefully not much longer. It was making her very limbs ache, because of how cold it was. Her golden orbs glimmered with happiness as she let out a small purr. She figured the silver she-cat needed it, and knowing that she too endured death, Doveflight did not want to make her feel unwelcome.
She lay on her side, and looked at the she-cat. It was like she had spent all of her life in the camp, and she just wanted a friend. She always had been standoffish, but in reality, Doveflight was sweet at heart and meant well for everyone. So many thoughts ran through her mind and she couldn't help but to smile.
She murmured, "It must have been a limb near Thunderclan, or something to that matter." Only time could tell for the two of them.
ooc: i was in a hurry. sorry for the crap post.

Feathertail thought that Doveflight was okay, usually the white she-cat was friendly. A constant warm smile on her maw. Though she didn't talk much and often kept away from large crowds. She was much like Feathertail .But every once in awhile she would change, her mood swinging the exact opposite way an she would lash out on other cat. This Feathertail was not fond of, especially when it came to apprentices, they were still learning. But overall she found the she-cat bearable and loyal.
All was quiet again, not an abnormal sound. Just the hum of the river Feathertail was impartial to leafbare. She liked pretty much everything except the prey shortage, and the fact that she couldn't go fishing or swimming. Those were her two favorite things, it just seemed natural to her. She longed for the days of newleaf, when the ice would melt and the river was warm enough to take a dip in.
"It must have been a limb near Thunderclan, or something to that matter." Doveflight mewed softly. Feathertail nodded. She decided to try her card at conversation. " What do you think of this whole thing with WindClan?" she mewed back, her thoughts drifting to last week's border dispute. Her apprentice, Minnowpaw, had been a cause of it, that she was sure. The little silver tabby she-cat had decided to leave camp without Feathertail. Something apprentices weren't supposed to do. Se was unruly sometimes, that one.

doveflight of riverclan She's all laid up in bed with a broken heart [atrb=border,0,true] She smiled at the she-cat, who seemed to be lost in thought. Doveflight flashed back to her kithood. She remembered that moment of her life so distinctively. Her sisters and her would stay up until dawn, laughing and playing. She missed the days that she could actually have fun. Now she was older, and the clan needed her to be there and be serious. She learned when she was an apprentice to take all matters seriously. She could not joke around anymore. If something were to happen to her clan mates, she had to be ready to defend them, and make sure no one harmed them.
It seemed like in every moment she woke up, she was constantly reminded of the code. She knew she had to fight, die, and hunt for the clan. That was her duty, and as recent, she had been doing much more of it. Windclan and Riverclan were at war with each other. They were always supposed to get along, but every cat knows that there are differences between clans. She was accepting that she could not resolve every problem. She learned she had to be tough on her own, and couldn't let others discourage her.
The silver she-cat broke her thoughts, as she meowed quietly,"What do you think of this whole thing with WindClan?" Doveflight remembered that week so clearly. There were so many deaths and bloodshed that week. She knew that she had to keep moving ahead though and never look back. Swishstar, her beloved leader was dead now, and they never did find the former deputy Silvercreek. At least that of what she heard.
She sighed and meowed softly, "Every cat, even Starclan knows there will always be differences between clans. There will be much hostility and hatred. It's natural, and has existed since our ancestors. I personally think that there so be a neutral, where cats can have their differences, but not cause so much bloodshed. No one likes death, unless you are a rogue. I am pained to see that we lost so many, and I probably will never look and Windclan the same for it. I cannot hold it against them though...."
She trailed off in silence, and lay her head on her paws. She was so frustrated she couldn't do more for her clan mates. She felt very defeated, but she knew the clan would recover, and that was all that mattered to her.

ivytail--You wanna know, know that it doesn't hurt me?;
-x-x- Ivytail struggled in her sleep. Her dream was weird, soft and always clouded. She was following her brother, and she wasn't sure where he was taking her. They were both kits still, except this time Poisonpaw was older than her. Still confused she scampered after him, tripping over her own paws. Every time she called out, he only brushed his tail across her mouth, silencing her. She tripped again, and as she hit the ground the snow around her seemed to melt away into the ground. She yelped and Poisonpaw turned on her. His jaws parted, revealing razor sharp teeth, and instead of a hiss a huge crashing sound erupted from his jaws.
Ivytail gasped and shuddered awake. Panting hard, she listened to the sound of her sleeping den mates. The crash the Poisonpaw had made disturbed her, and she wondered what had caused it. After a few heartbeats she heard a voice, 'Nice night, eh? I woke up from the crash I heard.' So she hadn't been the only one to hear the strange noise. The voice sounded like it belonged to Doveflight. Before she could even wonder who she was talking to, a second voice answered, I head it too, I wonder what it was.' Ivytail sighed and continued to listen to the conversation.
A pause and then Feathertail continued, Truth is I'm not sleeping much. Something just doesn't feel right on nights like these. Ivytail silently agreed, and wondered if every cat was experiencing these strange feelings as well. It seemed as if a dark cloud was drifting over the forest, threating to rain shadows on the clans, but never revealing themselves. What do you think of this whole thing with WindClan? Feathertail's voice brought Ivy back into the conversation. Well, she was eavesdropping, but she wasn't going to think about it like that.
The silence surrounded the den, giving it an eerie edge. Ivy prayed for Doveflight to say something soon, and she began to wonder if she should jump in now. But, Doveflight replied, Every cat, even Starclan knows there will always be differences between clans. I cannot hold it against them though....
[/i] Ivy thought about these words, and she realized the Dove was a pretty smart she-cat. Ivy decided that now would be the best time to 'wake up.' She pretended to sneeze and then she squirmed around a bit, as if she was trying to go back to sleep. Finally giving up, she sat up and turned towards the two she-cats. 'Hullo...I couldn't help but overhear your conversation,' she paused for a moment before looking back up at the she-cats. She wrapped her tail around her paws and then waited for someone to say something. word count: 669 lyrics: Running Up That Hill - Placebo post template: me! notes: hullo![/color] [/size][/blockquote][/blockquote] ivytail --You wanna hear about the deal I'm making?
