----------------------------------------------------I'm already there Don't make a sound I'm the beat in your heart I'm the moonlight shining down I'm the whisper in the wind And I'll be there until the end Can you feel the love that we share Oh I'm already there
---------------------------------------------------- the morning sun was shining brightly against the frozen meadow. the snow crunching after every paw step. the cat's tail flickering every so often as he moved. the snow was hard and crunchy. it was cold against his pads, but he kept on going to find the perfect place to sit and wait. to enjoy the warmth of the sun that he could before it was disturbed. he was ever so patient and silent as he moved. he wasn't out to hunt, just to enjoy the warmth that he could not back at windclan camp. dustpaw was on a mission to enjoy the warmth of the sun. he was waiting for this day to enjoy some free time without being bothered. without any chores. he was happy and content by himself, in the snow. he would be able to see anyone coming if they didn't blend in with the snow in the tall grasses. he was well in deep snow that was up to his belly. it probably was nothing to the warriors, but to him, it was high. the silence of the moorland was what interested him the most. the vast view of the forest all around him. they were surrounded by it. by the forest and then sandwiched by the nests of twolegs. oh how he wished to have seen it before the twolegs came along. it must have been beautiful back then. there were so many things he wished he could have done, but yet he wasn't even a warrior yet. he would smoke all the other apprentices. he wanted to show them he was the best one out there in windclan. he wanted to get to learning everything he could about becoming a warrior. he wanted to have some fun. he wanted to learn all he could and then help all those that needed it. he didn't mind the elders. sooner or later everyone was going to become an elder, it was just expected, unless you died in battle or illness. than it probably wasn't expected. he couldn't decide if he wanted curl up in the snow or just sit there and watch everything around him. he was finally glad to have some peace and quiet to himself as he curled his tail over his paws as he sat there watching the moorland through the snow covered meadow. ---------------------------------------------------- STATUS, finished! How lovely, to wander along the snow speckled moor, to peek behind puffy bushes and spot a lone rabbit peeking right back, to glance up at the sky and watch the snow spots plummet down to meet your pink nose and catch on your whiskers. How lovely, to wake late and stay up all night dancing in the moonlight, to dream of another warmer day, to lose yourself in the future's past. How lovely, to know that you're safe and loved and cared for. How lovely.
Copperpaw was at present twirling through the gently sloping hills, her brilliant amber eyes reflecting the sparkling snowflakes that caught in her sleek orange coat. A rather slender cat she was, but not too thin, despite the fact that Newleaf was still far away. Her mind wandered far away as well, with gently rolling waves and vast forests, with strange cats and strange scents. She was a Clan cat, loyal to the bone, but deep down she had the spirit of a loner. She didn't need others to be happy. She just needed a pretty view, something to eat, and her mind.
Of course, she should have been hunting. The Clan always needed freshkill, even when the rabbits ran directly into the warrior's claws. But she wasn't interested right now. Copperpaw wanted to wander some more instead. So she did. She traveled the entire boundary of WindClan territory, eyes wide and sparkling with happiness and sunshine. She caught sight of several other cats, but always ducked away just in time, hiding her bright pelt under a layer of snow. She was good at hiding.
A good while later, her gaze fell upon a fellow apprentice, fellow dreamer, fellow Clan family. Dustpaw was cute enough for her, but she had never been more than curious about him. She wasn't really the family type, as it was. She preferred friends who could talk for hours and never be awkward or confusing. Copperpaw didn't like feeling confused.
"It's nice out, isn't it?" she smiled warmly at the tom as she came up beside him, looking out across the territory, trying to pinpoint his gaze. She couldn't. Flicking her tail towards the rocky crags that littered the skyline, she blinked. "I've always wanted to go there. Where no one knows what's gonna happen. Where you're free to be whatever and free to do whatever." Her sweet voice trailed off as she contemplated this. It was something that haunted her dreams and occupied at least a corner of her mind every single day. She couldn't be rid of it. And she knew that in her heart, one day, she would go there. Wherever "there" was.

DUSTPAW I'm already there Take a look around I'm the sunshine in your hair I'm the shadow on the ground
I'm the moonlight shining down dustpaw's silence was broken when he heard someone come up behind him. he had been hoping for a peaceful day sunning himself, but at least he had some kind of company in case the two were to get ambushed by a patrol from another clan. not that it would ever happen, he just figured it was better than being alone. he wondered what copperpaw was doing out here today. he heard her talk about going somewhere, but where that was, was beyond him.
"where is somewhere? over the thunderpath or pass the twoleg nests?" he asked as he turned to look at her. sometimes it was just best to be blunt about curiosity. he wasn't in a bad mood, it was more like a curious one. he never knew what to do with himself at times. he wanted to be part of the excitement at times and still be able to have a grand time with his clanmates. he wanted to see everything that could be seen and told.he was the dreamer of sorts, always hoping for something special to happen. always out there looking for that special thing that could make him feel like he actually had done something in this life. he was always out looking for something to do, something to explore. why not go look for that in somewhere beyond.
"what brings you out here, copperpaw? the same reason as me? to sunbathe in the sun with what warmth it gives off despite the snow that surrounds us." dustpaw was a little curious as to why copperpaw was out here because it didn't seem like she was out here to hunt or to practice her combat moves with anyone. no one was with her, only himself, and starclan knew he wasn't about to do anything that required energy to do something. he was trying to relax and get himself used to this thing they called snow. he was a little unsure of it for the most part. it was cold, but it was soft and sometimes crunchy. what was the big deal with this? what made snow different than anything else that happened here? what made anything else different than everything? he was confused about everything and wanted to know everything there was to know.

Dustpaw's emerald gaze flickered towards the craggy mountains that pierced the skyline before darting back to meet Copperpaw's amber ones. There was no hostility there, just curiosity and a hint of loneliness. She knew the feeling. She felt it everyday. That sense of waiting for something to happen but never knowing if it ever would. Wanting something so badly and not knowing if you would ever get it. And never finding out what she was supposed to do with her life. It was hard to be an apprentice, indeed.
"Where is somewhere? Over the Thunderpath or past the Twoleg nests?" Copperpaw shook her head. She didn't know the answer. All she knew was that it was outside of this forest and these hills, this land she had known for so long. Somewhere beyond the Clan boundaries and the limits of her view. Somewhere elsewhere.
Dustpaw spoke again as she remained silent, her gaze still focused on the horizon. "What brings you out here, Copperpaw? The same reason as me? To sunbathe in the sun with what warmth it gives off despite the snow that surrounds us?" The lithe amber she-cat blinked and shook some snow off of her pelt, trying to gather some time to formulate an answer. How did she answer a question as clearly personal as that? But maybe it wasn't supposed to be personal. Maybe he was genuinely curious.
"I guess I just wanted to feel." She meowed finally, smiling gently at the rolling moors. "And I can't do that when I'm focused on training or hunting or listening to the elder's stories. So I come out here where there's no distractions and no lesson to be learned. And I just wander and feel." A glance in his direction confirmed that she had confused him. But she didn't mind. She was a very confusing cat. Sort of different, in a way, but not threatening. Just simply there.
And one day, she would be gone.

DUSTPAW I'm already there Take a look around I'm the sunshine in your hair I'm the shadow on the ground
I'm the moonlight shining down dustpaw looked at the snow covered land in front of them as copperpaw shook the snow off her pelt while she decided on an answer to his many questions about her curiosity. the tom cat was a curious cat, always interested in new things that could come their way. he wasn't scared to try new things that could help the clan out for survival, but he was also curious as to what was out there that no cat had ever explored before. would they meet new enemies, more cats? anything of that?
"I guess I just wanted to feel. And I can't do that when I'm focused on training or hunting or listening to the elder's stories. So I come out here where there's no distractions and no lesson to be learned. And I just wander and feel."
dustpaw turned to copperpaw looking at her watching the moorland. did she think of this every time she came out of camp with nothing to do? he was confused with her wording and what she meant. "what do you mean, you want to feel? feel the ground underneath your feet as you run through the tall grasses chasing prey or heading to the next patrol?" dustpaw sat down, his tail swishing the snow from the ground behind him. he wanted to know about why copperpaw felt this way. he wasn't going to tell the leader or anyone else if she took off, but that wasn't his place to do much of anything, because he felt no need. he was just really confused on what copperpaw was trying to tell him.
the landscape in front of him looked so peaceful, that he almost didn't want to go away from it. he wanted to stay in this place forever watching the landscape change before his eyes, but he felt that something would never stay the same. something was almost changing, the twolegs made sure of that. always trying to do something or another to the territory that they lived in. dustpaw didn't understand that, but he knew how to run away from them if they tried to grab him. he wasn't some kittypet that would sit there and roll around for them. no one could catch dustpaw if he dared. he just hoped his mind didn't get ahead of him like it normally did.

Maybe it would never happen.
Maybe she would stay in WindClan forever, bound by the warrior code, with a mate and kits, or maybe not. Maybe she was destined to live a life of normality, conformity, boring. Maybe it would never be the exciting dream she hoped it would, standing there gazing at the horizon with Dustpaw. Maybe she would always be that quiet oddball that wandered around at night so she could watch the stars, that stared at her reflection in puddles, not admiring her appearance, but rather trying to figure out just who was staring back at her.
Dustpaw must have thought her crazy. "What do you mean, you want to feel? Feel the ground underneath your feet as you run through the tall grasses chasing prey or heading to the next patrol?" His voice was patient and calm, comforting. He really was a sweet cat. Copperpaw smiled easily and shook her head, taking a few moments to get her words together. It was hard to describe how she felt to someone who didn't understand, or rather, simply didn't know what she was talking about. For some, it was easy to live life around others, and for some, it was not. She was more suited to life on her own. One day, she knew she would leave. And that was that.
"No." she meowed finally, softly, sighing. "I want to feel something inside of me. Some sense of - oh, I don't know. Complete. Full. Right." It was harder than she had thought, trying to explain. But how do you explain something you've never felt, only dreamed of?
"Enough about silly little me! What about you? Like any she-cats?" Copperpaw nudged Dustpaw with one shoulder, her mind focused once more and not drifting to that faraway place in the back of her consciousness. She was focused. Ready to listen. Listen to the sound of the winds through the tall grasses, the way the sun danced on the snow that speckled the ground, the tiny flakes that drifted down and landed on her nose . . .
[eh, she's kind of crazy. but what can ya do?]

DUSTPAW I'm already there Take a look around I'm the sunshine in your hair I'm the shadow on the ground
I'm the moonlight shining down dustpaw listened to copperpaw's response, confused of what she was saying, but he would go with it because it was obviously what she wanted to do with her own time. now he listened to her ask him about any she-cats that he liked. he wasn't to interested in them at the moment. he hadn't really thought of them lately. sure he may like a few, but he hadn't put much thought into attracting their attention. he was more interested in his training than anything else.
"no, i haven't put much thought into the she-cats in the clan. i'm so focused on learning things as an apprentice, that i just want to explore those things that deal with being an apprentice than chasing she-cats around. its nothing personal copperpaw. i just haven't put much thought into it." he patted her paws with his tail as he looked through the tall grass wandering what could come running through it to get them.
if anything would get them, but he wasn't particularly worried about being ambushed, leaf-bare was hard on every clan, he got that from all the warriors worried about the prey level in the territory and how much was being caught to feed the clan. he wondered if his first leaf-bare was going to be the hardest or if this would be his easiest, he had listened to the elders' stories. some of them talked of greencough infecting the clan a few leaf-bares and much of them were sick for half a moon or they were nearly starved because they couldn't catch any prey. he didn't want to face those hardships, not at this age and being so young. he wanted to learn more about the way of the clan, always looking out for each other and to learn the ways of the warrior code to excel at things later in his life. he just wanted to focus on one thing and one thing only. he could flirt with the she-cats later.
"are you interested in any toms, copperpaw? its only fair, as you asked if i was into any she-cats," he purred with amusement to his question toward her. he could only wonder who she fancied over on her spare time.

.t.r.u.t.h. ((Do you guys mind if I join? If you do, just tell me and I'll remove this.))
The sun was out and shining- the queen of the sky, always in her proper place. Her radiance was breathtaking, as always, and she rose behind the tabby she-cat. Truth's tan fur shimmered in the sun light, making it glow in a beautiful manner. The tabby marks decorated her fur delicately, in a marvelous symmetrical pattern that surprised even her. It all lead up to center stage- her miraculous green eyes- which were now focused on the snowy expanse laid out before her. Though it was a bit blinding, it was beautiful as well. Each crystal shimmered marvelously under the heat of the sun, even though they'd be ruined if the sun stayed. The snow was the sworn enemy of summer and the sun, yet even they worshiped her.
Truth was on WindClan territory today. She knew that she was trespassing, and frankly, she didn't care. With nowhere else to go, what could she do? Wandering in the clans was one of her favorite past times, because that lead to them getting angry and frustrated. It wasn't that Truth hated the clans, per say, though that was commonly assumed. No, she didn't loath them. Truth was just irritated by their superior manner against the rest of the world. They thought they were better, they thought they were great, they took all of the food, they fought each other over petty things like territory. Truth, on the other hand, thought that bloodshed over a few blades of grass was something completely ridiculous in itself.
Her paws nearing the camp, Truth saw the two apprentices as little blobs. She smiled a crooked grin, nearing them steadily, not bothering to hide. She couldn't tell of their size from afar, but as she neared she noticed that they weren't warriors. About her age, maybe a bit older, they both appeared to be tabby. They were looking in the opposite general direction, but they'd certainly hear her or smell her before she got to them. Which was, truthfully, what she preferred. The snow squealed under her paws as she grew closer and closer, until she was finally only a fox-tail length away.
"Good morning," she said with a dip of her head to them both. "I hope you don't mind that I... interrupt..." Truth wasn't really sure where she was going with this. It was depending on how they reacted. If they were calm and kind, she'd offer to play with them or speak with them. Friendly chat. If they were hostile, however, she'd return the words with fiery passion and prepare for a fight.
