There was a rustling noise in the distance. It sounded louder than it really was, but to the small, pale dappled kit, it made no difference. He only saw the vast darkness behind his eyelids; unblinking, and shakily, he lifted his frail, broad muzzle. Throwing it around he let out a tiny inaudible wail - his jaws parted, but no sound came out. What was this strange new intake of air? It tasted so funny, but it was fresh, and it made his throat feel all cool and comfortable. Pushing his senses past the thick aroma of his mother, Howlingheart, his delicate forepaws scrabbled over the dry but soiled floor. Tail whipping behind him like a stick, he heard the most indistinct whisper, but it sounded so friendly, and soft... moving in the opposite direction of the cooing sounds, Heronkit saw the sunlight through his red covers. He was facing the exit to the clearing, and he knew it.
Movement was evident beyond that wall; murmuring, and laughing. Pawsteps, both heavy and light at the same time... in a careful fashion, he opened his pale moonstones. The brilliant streaks made them hurt, and he squinted to ease the sting. "Mama?" He cried, twisting to take in her appearance. She was pretty, with golden mottled fur. "Mama? Is that you?" It had to be! This she-cat smelled just like Howlingheart! Excited, he bounded towards her, his downy kit-fur puffed out in all directions. There were no other she-cats in the den, he noted as he scanned all four rounded corners; so without a doubt, Heronkit knew matter-of-factly that she was indeed, his mother. "It is you!" His shrill mew laughed, thrilled that he'd gotten it right without having been corrected. Beside her belly was two more bundles, they slept soundly, their eyes still closed. He already know that they were his sisters, because they too were the only other kits in the den.
"When are they gonna wake up?" He asked curiously, his gems as wide as moons.

The bengal queen laid near the back of the nursery away from the entrance to keep her three kits safe. Her youngest kits and daughters were still snuggled up to her stomach sleeping. Her eldest on the other hand had a mind of his own. Heronkit was already awake and exploring the den while it was still quite. The young tom had walked a little away from her to stare at the entrance. She was so happy that they were healthy and growing up just fine. Howlingheart was purring with enjoyment of watching her only son and listening to the breathing coming from her two daughters by her side.
"Mama?" She watched as he called out towards her. It was like he didn't know who she was when he was facing the entrance of the den. He was calling out as if trying to find her. She wanted to call out to him to come back to her, but she wanted him to come see and come back to find her himself. "Mama is that you?" He was slightly closer. In his voice she could tell that he was a little scared, but excited as he figured out that she was his mother and that he found her. "It is you." "Yes it is, sweetie." the bengal queen purred with excitement.
"When are they gonna wake up?" "I don't know, Heronkit. You're just an early riser. It probably won't be long before one of them wakes. But once they both wake you can see the rest of the camp." Howlingheart mewed. She licked Heronkit's ear and top of his head, before licking the heads of Larkkit and Quailkit to see if they would wake.

Her voice matched perfectly to the soft croons he had heard before; he remembered vaguely, but surely, through the darkness, like listening to screams when you were under cloudy water, the sound of Howlingheart. Kit-blue eyes as big as moons, his ears perked forward at her gentle mew. I don't know, Heronkit. You're just an early riser. It probably won't be long before one of them wakes. But once they both wake you can see the rest of the camp. The queen purred. His whole heart sprouted wings, because he felt them flutter as they tried to fly away! Go see the rest of camp? She meant out there where he heard movement and life going on?
The corners of his mouth stretched into a huge smile, and he squeaked with enthusiasm. Then his sisters needed to wake up right away! Stumbling at Howlinghearts rasping, he laughed. "I can't wait to see the camp! They need to wake up soon." Playful growling sounded, and he crouched, ready to pounce on them. The thought then struck him, when was Whitewhisker going to visit them? He hadn't seen his father yet, and he was curious. If he got to leave the Nursery, Heronkit thought wily, he could go searching for the warrior himself! "What's Whitewhisker like, mama? I can't wait to see him either! Do you think he'll play with us?" His fragile tail whipped to and fro, making a thwip sound as it went. Was it just him or was time going very slowly? Mumbling to himself under his breath, he prodded Finchkits side.
He prodded her again.
"Psst, wake up. Mama says that when you and Quailkit do, we can do see camp," he couldn't mask the thrill in his whisper. The next time he nudged her, it was more fierce than before. "Ack." Unsatisfied, he huffed. He'd just have to wait for them, even though there was nothing to do until they did open their eyes, and StarClan knew when that would be. With no other kits in the den besides them, it felt lonely. His own shifting echoing off of the barren, brambled walls. Just hearing the warriors exchange gossip, and patrol, and eat and chuckle, and do all sorts of other things, made his miniature plump paws itch to run out anyway. But if he did that, Howlingheart would be angry.
Plopping his rear down, his tail tip twitched impatiently.

quailkit was sound asleep next to howlingheart's warm belly with her older sister, larkkit right next to her. there was a cold spot near her where her brother, heronkit was laying before he woke and got annoying. she tried to pretend to sleep just so she could go back to sleep without the voice of her brother stuck in her head.
she couldn't resist, she just couldn't go back to sleep after her brother just by chance woke her up with his chattering. she slowly opened her eyes as heronkit sat down facing away from her. she stared at him for a few moment contemplating the surrounds and him. she wanted to pounce on him without him knowing, but that might be hard since she didn't know if she was quiet enough or not. slowly standing up on her unsteady legs, she tried to jump for heronkit's back.
leaping a few mouse-lengths in the air, quailkit was a few mouse-lengths sky of getting her brother and landed at the edge of his tail. a 'mrrow' noise came out of her as she landed. laying their all sprawled out and disappointed that she didn't exactly land on him as she wanted to.

larkkit--All I want to do;
-x-x- Larkkit was having a weird dream, and it involved milk, her mother, and her siblings. She twisted and turned, trying to make out what her family was telling her. A couple of times she heard her brother's voice, but then it was confused with her mother's. After a few seconds she felt what seemed to be her brother's paw prod her. She groaned and flailed, trying to run out of this strange, sleepy state.
When she finally woke up, she was in a very dark place. Around her she heard whispers and she suddenly thought that perhaps her nightmares were going to follow her into the waking world. Becoming scared, she jumped and yelped, 'Mommy! Mommy!' She pushed with her little stubby legs and slammed into her mother's belly. Panting hard, she finally opened one bright blue eye.
Slowly she sat up, and glanced around the nursery. Her sister was laying all sprawled out, and Heronkit was close to her. They must have been playing. Suddenly becoming jealous, she trotted over to the two other kits. Subtly, she prepared to jump and with in moments she was hurtling towards Heronkit, prepared to knock him over. She was hoping she had timed and aimed well, as she didn't want to end up like her sister, laying on the ground.

(Sorry guys would've psoted sooner)
A gray and white tom slipped through the narrow entrence of the nursery blinking. Carrying some fresh-kill, he walked over to his mate, Howlingheart. "Hey, sorry I wasn't there," he murmured softly, bending down to try and lick her cheeck. "You okay?" he asked, glancing around. Seeing three kits, he purred softly. "They have grown so much already," he murmured, his yellow eyes growing with joy and happeniess. "I brought some fresh-kill for you," Whitewhisker mewoed, dropping the mouse next to her. "It's a little skinny but it will do for now, I hope," he murmured, settling down beside her.

After a couple moments, sounds exploded into the warm den and Heronkit was scrambling away from Quailkit frantically. Her figure awkwardly pounced, but landed with a thud on top of his tail. "You missed!" He squeaked, rolling her away with one pale forepaw, before prodding her again.
"Haha." Enjoying the easy victory, the little tomkit failed to notice his other sister, Larkkit creeping up from behind; she leaped, and he felt her weight bowl him over! Mewling pitifully, he sat up, the fur around his neck and jowls cropped abnormally. The look on his maw was sour and this time, he wasn't snickering.
"You little... you little kit! I'll get you!" And before he was even balanced, he was scampering towards her, scrabbling to nip her tail - in truth, he wasn't seriously going to hurt her. He was just in a playful mood! And distracted by his siblings, he had forgotten entirely about the questions he had asked Howlingheart.
Heronkit stopped mid-scamper, though, when a large distinct shadow filled the entrance, blocking out the sunlight. It had big shoulders, and a foreign scent, but it was a cat! Heronkit could already tell how to recognize that. Whoever it was, he was big and... and... was he a Warrior!? Hey, sorry I wasn't there. His voice wad deep, and it roared loudly in Heronkits ears.
But then, there was a softness to it that had him curious; the white tom padded in, allowing streaks of light to once again splash over the smooth floor. He gave Howlingheart a lick on the cheek, before prey... Was that... Whitewhisker?! Excitement filled his little body and he bounced gleefully towards the Warrior. "Are you my pappa?!" Golden green eyes sparkling above his lips, that by which were split in a wide grin.

howlingheart was glad that all her kits were having fun together. it was a beautiful sight to see. heronkit would become a great warrior like his father, whitewhisker. she could see in his eyes that he wasn't going to leave any of his sisters behind. her runt of the litter, quailkit would probably be more like her. she could tell. she had a mighty heart, of trying to do the impossible. and then larkkit, had the spirit of both her parents. larkkit also still was shaken from her little nightmare she just had.
the queen stood up once larkkit went after heronkit like quailkit had just done moments before and failing at landing on him. she stretched her legs forward and then backward before repositioning herself on her moss bed. it grew lonely in the nursery with just her kits and no other queens. but it also gave her the peace and time to get to know her kits with out any distractions from other kits and queens.
so intent on her kits, howlingheart didn't realize that her mate was coming into the nursery with food until he blocked the sunlight that had came through. he seemed so unsure of himself as he came in. as if he was nervous to finally meet his kits. his three beautiful kits. he dropped the mouse next to her. she hadn't realized how hungry she was until she saw the mouse.
howlingheart could see that heronkit was in shock to see his father, that she had mentioned to him before he started to play with his sisters. in due time he will know him just as well as she does. "yes, heronkit this is whitewhisker. your father. he's also very happy to see you for the first time as well." howlingheart purred with excitement.

quailkit laid there on the ground for a few moments as heronkit made his get away from her. but it wasn't long before larkkit joined in and got him when he wasn't looking. she had thought she would have made it on him, guess she would have to work on her jumping skills to land on his back for next time. quailkit felt jealous of her sister, larkkit, as if she was better than her. she had tried to so hard to land on heronkit and larkkit made it look easy as she landed on him.
it was her size that gave larkkit the advantage that quailkit didn't have. she was smaller than her brother and sister. she was the runt of the litter. she was also the youngest of the three. she stood up and and shook the dust off her pelt as she walked over toward her mother as she didn't want to play anymore. she wasn't in a good after that failing of getting on heronkit's back.
only a few moment later, a shadowy figure had blocked the entrance of the den as he came near. quailkit tried to burrow into her mother's stomach not knowing that warrior coming in was her father. heronkit seem more happy and shocked about it that she was. she didn't know what to expect from him. how long was he going to stay with him? or how many times a day was he going to come in here to play with them? obviously quailkit would probably never know the answer right away, but over time possibly.

The bi-colored tom purred softly, smiling at his family. "They're beautiful, Howllingheart," he meowed, lying down beside the she-cat. Chuckling, the white tom glanced over at Heronkit and nodded. "Yes, I'm your dad," he meowed, glancing over to Quailkit. “I’m not going to hurt you, little one,” he murmured, his voice soft and gentle. “How are you doing Howlingheart?” he asked, blinking his yellow eyes at his mate. “So how are the doing?” he asked, yawning softly, stretching his forepaws out, bowing slightly. Chuckling slightly, he watched as his and Howlingheart's kits played, smiling softly.

Larkkit's bright blue eyes glowed with triumph has she knocked her brother over. She hadn't expected her attack to actually work, perhaps it was only because Heronkit was distracted. But Larkkit didn't have anytime to worry about this because a few moments later Heronkit meowed, 'You little... you little kit! I'll get you!' Larkkit giggled as her brother scrambled to catch her. Her little legs pushed hard and she ran, calling over her shoulder, 'You can try!'
She raced wildly in the cramped space that was the nursery. Light was now streaming through the bracken, allowing the shadows that had filled the cozy den to draw back. While Larkkit turned, narrowly avoiding her brother's jaws, she noticed Quailkit stalking back over to their mother, clearly bored with the game they were playing. Ignoring her sister, Larkkit turned around, rearing on her hind legs, prepared to take on Heronkit.
But suddenly, a large shadow blocked out the new light that had just entered. Heronkit stopped in his place and Larkkit lost the balance in her hind legs and fell backwards, tumbling over on to her back. Her brother didn't hesitate, scampering over to the huge warrior. 'Are you my papa?' The light colored bengal she-cat finally managed to scramble of the dusty ground, her whitish pelt slightly stained.
She padded forward softly, never removing her eyes from her father. He was a strong looking cat, a sleek pelt rippling over well defined muscles. Larkkit stopped a few lengths away from him, eyes picking out every detail. Her stubby tail was curled with happiness, and her rump wiggled slightly with excitement. His yellow gaze was soft, and full of joy.
Curiosity bubbled up inside of her, and she tilted her head ever so slightly. Her vivid blue eyes were stretched wide with pleasure and she gave an excited bounce. Suddenly, she dipped down into a bunched up crouch. Kicking as powerfully as she could with her back legs, she soared into the air, paws outstretched.
She plummeted down, landing on his back. She sank her teeth into his fur, unaware of how that could hurt. Larkkit called with a muffled voice, 'Daddy!' Giggling, she swatted at the base of his spine, thrilled and happy.
