Firestorm padded out into the marsh, excitement and joy rushing through his veins. He was now a mentor, and he had an apprentice to train, he couldn't be more ready! "COME ON ROSEPAW!!" he yowled as he turned around and looked for her. He was already thinking of all the great things he had to teach her....what fun it was going to be!

Rosepaw darted out from the bushes and lept to her mentors side she shook the leaves from her fur and showed off her brilliant orange coat. Then looked to Firestorm, "Well what am i gonna learn today?"

Firestorm looked at Rosepaws brilliant orange pelt....It looked a lot like his own. He smiled happily at his apprentices readiness and determination to learn. "WELL Firestorm started with a smile. "I think we'll start with some moves! Now Rosepaw, I want you to attack me....think about it, but don't think too hard....be quick, and be light on your paws...". Firestorm readied himself to be attacked, but it was pure fun to him. He dug his claws into the ground, awaiting any attack she might pull, but he knew one of these days, she might be better than him...he smiled at the thought

Rosepaw thought of the days she had practiced on her own on fighting the leaves blowing in the wind, she smirked at the kittish act and dropped into her fighting pose and lept, she jumped up and then slid underneath Firestorm to end up on the other side of him and push him over, she stopped in horror that she might of hurt him.

Firestorm jumped up as his apprentice slid underneath him. He knew that trick very well, and used it often. Landing steadily right next to Rosepaw without a scratch he turned to her and gave her cheek a quick lick. " That was very well done!" he mewed with a smile, "but I suspected it. You need to try things that no one will expect. Start doing one thing and end up with something totally different, its the element of suprise....No one will suspect it, if you understand what Im saying" He padded a few tail lengths away from her then turned to face her with a smile. "NOW! he called firmly "Try again...."

Rosepaw flicked her tail in disappointment and excitment. She looked around and stared at him at the same time and then came up with an idea... she ran straight for him and as he was about to turn away to dodge her she turned around and kicked dirt in his face and pretended to scratch him but didn't. it might have not been fair but she knew he wouldn't expect it....

Firestorm braced himself for her to pound into him, but tensed his muscles as she whipped around and kicked the dirt. A bit of dirt hit his nose and he shook his head to get it off. then he flinched as she pretended to swipe at him, claws sheathed. He took a slight step backwards then looked at his apprentice. She was learning so well! he was already proud of her! " VERY WELL DONE ROSEPAW!" he yowled with satisfaction after getting the last of the dirt out of his glossy pelt. " I must say, that was totally unexpected!". He took a few more steps back and bunched up his muscles, then leaped at her. What would she do? Would she stay and be barreled over? Or would she dodge the attack? His mind flushed with thoughts..... the element of suprise! was all he could think... ((NO PROBLEM!!  )) |

She was a bit surprised by the attack but took the hit but thrust herself over him and ended back on her paws, that instant she lept at him claws and all and took a nip at his shoulder.

After firestorm had landed he turned to Rosepaw to comment on how she'd reacted. Suddenly he felt a sharp pain in his shoulder and a bit of blood oozed from it as she nipped his shoulder with her sharp claws. "OUCH!" he yowled out of suprise and turned to her.... "Remember to sheather your claws during training" he mewed with a mrow of amusement. "You don't want to slice up you own mentor now do you?". He sat down and gave the small wound a good lick. She's fast he thought as he looked back up at her, "What do you want to do now?" he asked as he stood back up with a smile

"Well since i have almost beaten my own mentor in a fight" she joked, "How do you catch a bired?"

"So you want to catch a bird now do ya?" Mewed firestorm letting out a mrow of laughter. "Well I guess I have to teach ya since well, thats what mentors are for!" He got to his paws and got into a crouch. "To catch a bird, you need to be VERY quiet. You need to sneak up on them with as little noise as possible, and and you must be quick as the wind! As soon as they start of flying if you scare them that is, you must pounce right on them, unless you can manage to get to them before they fly!"
Firestorm crouched down low and looked about. Suddenly he saw a thrush just a few foxlengths ahead of them....a perfect example! He crouched down low and snuck forward, getting closer and closer. He kept light on his toes and made as little noise as possible, and then it was startled. It started to fly but Firestorm was to quick, he leaped at it and killed it off with a clean swipe of his paw, unsheathed claws of course. As he landed, the thrush landed dead next to him, and he picked it up in his jaws and placed it in front of Rosepaw.... "That Rosepaw" he mewed gently with a smile "Is how you catch a bird!"
((Sorry, i gtg....We'll train more tomorrow I promise!! And i know we're suppose to let Vi give us prey, but this is for Training purposes!!))

Nightcloud was standing in the bushes and saw Firestorm teach Rosepaw very useful things. Nightcloud wondered if she would be that good of a mentor. She stood looking at Firestorm waiting to be spied by the small bush

Rosepaw was watching Firestorm when she smelt something in the bushes, she crept over and pounced into the bushes with strength. Seeing it was Nightcloud she backed up and helped up the warrior. "I am so sorry i didn't think... i mean... "

"It's alright! I was just watching you two train. I can't wait until I get to train my apprentice." Nightcloud said. She moved her glance to Firestorm who seemed to be having a good time. "If you want me to leave..I will go. It was not my place to be here, but I wish to learn some things from Firestorm." Nightcloud loved the thought of learning from the other warrior who she seemed to be attracted to. Nightcloud got up and walked to a fallen limb of a tree and sat quietly. "Oh! Go on!" Nightcloud said as she started back to camp. "I will just go and leave yout wo to training!"
